Justiniano thought it best for him to go on his way before anything happened and this time it would be in the hands of Isabella and he didn't want to know what could happen. He said goodbye to both of them, making the excuse that he had to go to work when in reality he just wanted to go.
He also wanted to leave in a hurry because he was afraid that if the letter Magnus sent said something that the girls didn't agree with and they got mad they could take it out on him since he was there in front of them, and he didn't want to take the consequences.
"Don't worry Justiniano, nothing will happen to you," said Valentina, "I'm sorry that previously I lost my temper with you but no one knows what we have been through. And it irks us that to everyone it's bothersome that we ask questions that we want to know why certain things happened. We have had to suffer and live as fugitives and all those that committed the crimes were never brought before your grand council they have never been judged or sentenced and we keep getting, get over it."
"And yes Justiniano, we know the way of La Sombra Rogues and how they judge and sentence as well as who are the elders, I tell you this because every time I mention anything that has to do remotely with the council you look at us with surprise. We know much of our world, just because we have lived in the world of the living doesn't mean we don't know the ins and outs of the world of darkness. We have seen much possibly much more than you but how much you will never know."
He didn't know one of their unique powers was acquiring the memories of the person they killed. From the simple touch of their fangs to the blood of any human, vampire, or even animal they were draining for their sustenance, all their memories became theirs. When they killed the older vampires as well as the younger vampires in their so-called uncle's coven, they acquired all their information which helped them stay hidden from everyone for so long as well as they acquired all the rulings from the council.
As soon as Justiniano left both she and Isabella looked at the letter on the table, looking at the special 'touch' Magnus had added, the red seal of the La Sombra Rogues council. Like it meant anything to either one of them. Neither saw any reason to go by the laws of the council when they knew that they judged some and not all. Take an example of what happened in their case when they found out that nothing had ever been done.
But they were more than sure that when the council knew they were there the first thing they would want to do was judge them for what they did to Bartholomew's coven and they were not about to humble themselves to be judged by a bunch of decrepit men.
"Valentina, ready to open it?" "Yes, let's" Valentina took a letter opener that was on the desk and opened it, she didn't want to cut herself because she didn't know if someone might have put something on the edges of the envelope. Right now, she doesn't trust anyone except her sister.
"Dearest granddaughters, I hope this letter will find you in the best of health as can be said for our race. It is of great happiness to me to know that you have made it safely here and that you would like to meet me. I will try to provide all the answers that I can and the ones I don't have we shall find together. I hope you can give me a chance to show you my love as you are the only grandchildren I have and when you were near as children brought me the grandest happiness in my life and I would like it to be as such once again."
Valentina continued, "It has been eons since we have seen each other and although some of us do not age or change you both are special and different and I'm sure you are not the same little girls that used to play house with me or drink 'tea' with me, no, you are probably now two beautiful young women. Exquisite in all ways."
"My only desire is that our encounter be a good one so please let it be, let us meet in your home, tomorrow at about midnight as I am not a vliver as you both are, I must live in the darkness of the night. I will come with Justiniano and no one else. Take care, my sweet granddaughters, Valentina Zaria & Isabella Valeria."
"Well Isabella we have a date tomorrow night so we must go shopping during the day, we must not be 'bad' hostesses." Isabella laughed at her sister's sarcasm.
