Chapter 15

It was the next day.

She opened her eyes, Her ears perked up as she heard people shouting.

She sat up abruptly as she rubbed her eyes. She then walked out of her Mauri walking towards the crowd.

She approaches Tsireya, Seeing Tsireya upset.

"What is wrong?" She asked.

Tsireya turns to Eyalu, Clearly distressed. "A tulkun.. has been murdered by the sky people.."

Her heart sank hearing the words. She calmed herself down wanting answers.

"Who's?!" She said

"We do Not know yet.. My mother and father have gone to see.." she said wiping her teary eyes.

Eyalu runs toward the ocean clicking her tongue calling for her ilu.

Neteyam interrupts her and stands in front holding her by the shoulders with a confused face.
"Eyalu? Where are you going?!"

"Neteyam.." she said before she pushed past him to go toward her ilu, that was poking its head up waiting.

Tsireya runs over aswell As Lo'ak.
"Eyalu you aren't allowed to go!" She said.

Eyalu blocked everybody out, She needed to know who's tulkun was murdered.

She climbed onto her ilu, then riding to the circle of mourning tulkun..

Neteyam, Lo'ak, And Tsireya followed Eyalu trying to catch up to her to stop her..

Before Eyalu arrived to the scene.

"Who's spirit sister is it dear?" Tonowari asks Ronal. Neytiri and Jake are sat by watching waiting for an answer.

She turned to look at him with teary eyes. "It is Na'po.. Eyalus Spirit sister.." she said in a low tone..

Neytiri looked down guiltily. She felt as it was her and jakes fault this poor girl must go through this..

Tonowari looked down.

Eyalu had then arrived at the scene a long as the others.. She recognized the tattoos on the tulkun and knew immediately it was her spirit sister..

She rode up to the tulkun dismounting her ilu, swimming up to the deceased Tulkun.

Tears formed in her eyes as her lips quivered. She swam and climbed onto Na'po's Fin. She sobbed as she looked at her spirit sister.

She let out a loud scream as she sobbed gently rubbing Na'pos face..

"What is this?!" She shouted clearly distressed.

Neteyam and the others then swam up as well..

Tsireya in tears as she watched her dear friend sob.

Neteyam wanted to swim up to her and comfort her only to be stopped by his own father.. he turned to his father as his father shook his head no.

"My family! Murdered by the sky people and now my SPIRIT SISTER?!" She shouted as she turned to look at Jake, Then to Ronal and Tonowari.

Ronal turned her head grieving.
Tonowari sympathies the young girl, Admiring how strong she was.

She continuously sobbed at her spirit sisters side, As everyone around her watched.

Eventually she became numb. She swam to her ilu, then she rode back to the beach along with the others who followed.

As she walked towards her Mauri. Tears flooding her face she feels someone grab her waist from the back and pull her in. It was Neteyam.

She looked back.. she didn't know what to say. He didn't need or want her to say anything, All he wished to do was comfort her.

He wrapped his arms around her
as her head laid on his chest. She felt safe in his arms. She then lifted her head up and looked up at him.

"I'm okay Teyam.." she said in a soft tone. He looked down at her and gave her a warm smile.

They then both walk towards the crowd of Metkayina.

As ronal and Tonowari shouted.

"They are now hunting our spirit sisters and brothers!" Tonowari shouts at the crowd.

"They have started a war they cannot finish!" Tonowari shouts performing The Haka, As the others Did it aswell.

Jake then interrupts coming forward.

"You cannot bring war for this! They will destroy everything you love!" He shouted. Neteyam begins to try and calm everyone down.

As Ronal hears jakes words she grips onto Tonowaris arm holding her pregnant belly.

Eyalu walks into the crowd silencing everyone just by her appearance.

She walks up in front of everyone.

"Yes people! Listen to "Toruk Makto!" The man that ran from his own people! To protect himself by endangering others!" She shouted as she pointed to Jake, She held all these emotions in and she had finally just snapped on him.

Neteyams face was shocked as was everyone else's. He didn't recognize this girl.

Jakes Face had a guilty Look yet also disappointed one, He quickly snapped out of it then to grab the object in Neteyams hand to then stand up against waving this object in the air.

"This is what they use to hunt your tulkuns!" He shouted.

"You have to tell them to leave! Get out of here!" He shouted once again.

Though the people did not want to agree and shouted back angryily.

"It's too late to tell my spirit sister to leave now isn't it?" She mumbled loud enough for Neteyam to hear.

"It's not about that! It is about protecting the ones you love. Protecting your family" he said as he looked to Tonowari And Ronal.

Tonowari just had to give her look before she already understood and agreed, Giving him a nod.

"Go!" Ronal shouted.

"Quickly tell the tulkun!" Tonowari said.

They begin to scatter going to tell the tulkun.

Neteyam approaches Eyalu clearly upset.

She could see that.

"What was all that about" he asked clearly distressed.

"What?" She said acting innocently.

"You know what Eyalu." He said sternly.

Before she could get another word out Neteyams eye caught Lo'ak.

"I'll deal with you later!" He said stern then walked away to Lo'ak.

"What is that supposed to mean Neteyam?!" She said pissed off.

Who does he think I am? He cannot control how I feel. Or what I want to say! She thought.

She then began to walk over aswell to Lo'ak and Neteyam, Seeing them argue.
