Chapter 19

As Neteyam and Eyalu Dance, Eyalu could Tell there was something bothering him.

The celebration has ended, neteyam and Eyalu were walking to their Mauri, as their fingers were intertwined.

Eyalu was unclipping the things from her hair, as Neteyam was taking his accessories off.

"Teyam. Is something bothering you?" She asked.

He was zoned out, as her voice brought him back to reality.
"Hm? Oh. No of course not." He replied.

"Teyam.. if there is you can talk to me about it." She said as she walked over to him, helping him clip his necklace off.

"Oh course, I would." He replied. Anxiously.

She was quiet.. "would you?" She said in a low tone.

He was quiet.. as he thought what he should reply with, the tension filled the room...

"Never mind." She said as she walked away. She let it go. Or at least she thought she did. But then as she changed into more comfortable clothes, her thoughts were overwhelming.

What if he met someone else while I was gone that made him happier than I ever could.. what it this thing is not going to work anymore.. what if he doesn't love me..

She then broke the silence. She felt it would be better to let her feelings out.

"Neteyam. Is there something you need to tell me?" She said sternly.

"Hm?"

She gave him a look.

It frightened him a bit..

"No? Why? Do you think I replaced you or something?" He teased.

She then froze as her eyebrows lifted, as she sat in silence, once again doubting herself.

He realized, and let out a sigh as he chuckled. He then walked to her as he wrapped his arms around her waist turning her to face him.

"What is going on in that little head of yours?" He said as he lifted his eyebrows.

She rolled her eyes as she shook her head.

"What? You think I did something bad while you were gone?! How dare ye!" He teased.

They both giggled as they embraced each others company. Something they haven't done for a while.

"Teyam. Seriously. You need to open up to me! Just like I did." She said

He pouted as he was caught in his thoughts.

"Really? You want to know?" He said as he smirked.

She nodded yes as she tilted her head with a smile.

He then kissed her gently.
"What do you feel about.. starting a family?" He said embarrassed and flustered, as he turned away as his cheeks turned rosy.

Her expression was shocked and stunned. She didn't know what to say..

Start a family... I- I don't know if I'm ready.. but he wants to.. I..

She looked away as her cheeks became rosy as well. She then walked away as she continued to think.

He was disappointed at her reaction. And was a bit hurt and upset.

She's walking away without saying a word? Does she not want to start a family with me..? Am I the problem?

"Eyalu..?" He said in a hoarse tone.

"Teyam.. I.. I don't know what to say.." she said awkwardly..

"It's okay if-" Before he finished his sentence she cut him off.

"Do you really want to start one? Especially this early..? I mean we have barely turned 18.." she said.

If he wants do.. then I guess I will accept, he has done so much for me! I want to bring him the joy that he gives to me, the joy that I cannot give him by myself.

She was a bit confused... on why he was rushing into this, she wanted to enjoy the time with just him and her.. but he seemed to want to rush into a family.. or ATLEAST that's what she thought.

"Wait wha? You-" he stuttered shocked by her sudden response.

"Of course I do Eyalu. I want to have a family with you. I love you! But I won't unless you want to." He said, he was slightly excited by her response.

She laughed. "Well then.. I guess we can start a family." She put on fake excitement. It wasn't that she didn't eventually want to make a family, With Neteyam of course. It was just that she just got over her family passing and accepted it. And now she was being rushed into making one of her own?

What if she couldn't live up her mother? What if she wouldn't be a good mother? These kinds of thoughts filled up her head, As it was tormenting her. She was afraid..what if she couldn't protect them like her mother protected her..
