Entering The Kingdom

Rosy, Mario, and Toad arrive at the Mushroom Kingdom's town of Toads. Toad turns to the two, "This way, Mario and Rosy! The Princess lives right on that hill!" He leads them through the city, shouting at the other Toads, "Excuse me, everybody, coming through. Got a big adventure happening right now. Just clear a path for us. If I could just... Excuse me..."

Mario notices a few Toads hitting blocks and coins coming out of them like a bank. Finally, one coin rolls away from a Toad, and Mario stops to give it to them, "Here you go." The green Toad nods in thanks and hurries off. Rosy walked calmly beside Mario, her hands behind her back. She grins at the sight, "I missed visiting this Kingdom."

Toad loudly yells at everyone, "Excuse me, everybody, coming through! This guy's brother is going to die imminently! Out of the way, please!" He normally speaks to the two, "Just trying to clear a path. That's all I'm doing. He's gonna be fine. Chanterelle!" Toad waves to another toad.

Chanterelle waves back, "Morning!"

"Nice to see ya, bud!"

Toad grins at Mario and Rosy, "And, up we go." Mario frowns, "Wait, up?" He releases a grunt and grabs Rosy's hand as they quickly get on the platform, which takes them up. The gate ahead opens in front of them. Mario holds Rosy's hand, following Toad on a moving platform. Toad hops onto the next platform, but Mario and Rosy miss the jump but grab onto the edge. Mario gets up and breathes heavily before helping Rosy and running after Toad. Toad continues running through the Kingdom and whistles to Mario and Rosy, who was waving at a toad, to get their attention. The two get off the rising platform and follow him onto bricks that float above as Mario tries not to fall.

Mario pants and looks at the blocks, "Whoa! Okay, so these bricks are just floatin' here? Uh..." Rosy gripped his arm, trying to steady herself as Toad pointed in their next direction, "Just pop in this pipe, and we're on our way!"

"Oh."

Toad grins, "It's the only way to fly, man." He laughs before jumping in, "Woo!"

"Oh, wow! Love these pipes--" Mario yelps as he gets sucked into it. He yells as he gets dragged across, hitting every corner while Toad is having a smooth ride. Rosy chuckles and jumps in, smoothly gliding in the pipe.

Toad gives a yell, "Woo!" Toad gets out of the pipe and jumps in another. Mario comes out next but gets confused about which pipe Toad took. He gets in the wrong pipe and comes out of another, "Huh?" Rosy jumps out of the pipe and looks at Mario, "Where did he go?" Mario shrugs and tries other pipes but repeatedly ends up in the same place. Finally, Rosy takes a step back to see even more pipes.

In frustration, Mario throws his arms up, "Ah, come on!" Rosy giggled and looked at the pipe that goes to the next level, "Try this one." Mario groans, and the two hop inside, finally coming out of the correct pipe at the top of the hill. Rosy grinned, but Mario looked completely worn out.

"Ohh..." He tumbles onto the ground. Toad turns to them with a smile, "Here we are! Palace doors. Bing, bang, boom!" Mario gets up and straightens his hat while staring in awe at the Castle. Toad laughs, "Come on! Woo!"

They dashed towards the doors and reached a massive water fountain. Mario gazes up at the Castle, "Whoa." Toad turns to them as they reach the doors, "Pretty impressive, am I right?" Suddenly, two Toad Guards point their spears at them, "Hold it right there, you two!" A Blue Toad Guard spoke.

Mario blinks and takes a step forward, "Oh, hey. I need to see... the Princess! It's an emergency!" The Blue Toad didn't miss a beat, "What princess?" He glances at the Yellow Toad Guard, who replies to him, "I've never heard of any princess."

Mario and Rosy glance at each other unimpressed as the Blue Toad shakes his head, "Oh wait, I did. Our Princess, though, is in another castle!"

"Oh yeah, that's right."

The Blue Toad Guard turns back to the three companions, "You should try another castle, maybe. She ain't in this one." Mario frowns in confusion, "Huh?"

Toad chuckles and walks up to the guards, talking to Mario and Rosy, "Okay, so they're messing with you. And... I don't like it!" Toad yells at them, and takes out his frying pan, screaming a battle cry, places his camping equipment down, and makes food for them, much to everyone's puzzlement, "What do you guys, um... What do you wanna eat? Anything, anything your hearts desire." Toad tells the guards before he whispers to the two, "Go!" He turns to the guards, "And we're gonna scramble it up."

The guards start laughing as Mario and Rosy quickly slip inside and into the halls of the Kingdom. Mario glances at Rosy as they quietly walk in the halls, "You doing okay?" The woman snorts in amusement, "I'm okay, Mario. Lets just find the Princess so she can help Luigi."

Mario nods his head. As they walked, a gasp was heard, along with a shout, "Hey! Intruder!" They turn to see a Purple and a Green Toad Guards running towards them. Mario and Rosy bolted down the corridor, trying to lose them. Mario starts panting as a Green Toad Guard shouts, "Stop them!" Then, more guards appeared, yelling over each other, "Stop them! After them! Go! Stop them!" Rosy grabs Mario's hand and steers him out of the main corridor and down another hall.

"What are we going to do?" Mario shouts. Rosy remembered these halls for a long time, "We're still going to find the Princess! Even if that means getting chased!"

And she knows where she will be.
