Raya had set out on a skimwing as she circled the nearby islands for any sign of Sky People.
She had been out for days. She had refused to return to Awa'atlu until she found any sign of the sky people, or her children.
"Raya? My love can you hear me?" Neteyam said through her earpiece.
"Loud and clear." She said back.
"My love, come home. You've been out for three days. Come back." He begged. She sighed and nodded. "Alright, I'll be back soon."
"Okay, be safe."
"I will."
She then turned her skimwing around and made her way back to the village. As she was on her way back she saw something that stopped her instantly in her tracks.
It was a ship. A large one too. She didn't know how she didn't see it the first time.
She pressed her finger against her ear piece and spoke into it.
"Neteyam, I'm at the cove. There's a giant ship here. I'm gonna go check it out."She paused and waited for his response and after a moment he came through.
"Okay my love, be safe."
"I will. Get the clan ready to get here, I think it's the Sky People."
"Alright I will. I love you."
"And I love you."She then dove underwater and decided to get a closer look.
As she swam closer she heard a beeping sound. As she looked around to see what it was an explosion went off underwater, causing her ears to ring.
Shel held on tightly to her skimwing as he began thrashing around. She then swam back up to the surface to get her ears above water so she didn't go deaf.
"Over there! I see her!" Someone yelled as they threw a net at her.
She quickly dove underwater and nearly missed the net.
Once she came back up she looked behind her, and as soon as she looked back she felt sharp talons in her shoulders.
"Ah! Let go of me!" She yelled as the ikran pulled her off her skimwing and took her to the ship.
"We got her boss!" Someone yelled as they dropped her on the ship. She tried to get away but the ikran pushed her down onto the floor and held her there.
"Well, well, well. Look who we have here."
Raya looked up to see who it was.
Roìlona.Raya just stood there as Roìlona walked circles around her.
"I knew you'd come eventually." She said kneeling down in front of Raya.
"You monster!" Raya yelled trying to get up.
Roìlona laughed then stood up. "Nobodys coming to get you, nobody even knows your gone."Raya laughed.
She felt the weight of the ikran lift off of her and suddenly she was being pulled to her feet. She thrashed trying to get away but someone had a tight grip on her queue as another person tied her hands behind her back.
"You're playing a sick game Roìlona." Raya yelled. "Where are my babies?"
Roìlona shrugged her shoulders.
"Who knows where they are. They could be sleeping peacefully or they could be ikran food. It all depends on how you handle this situation.""You don't have to do this." Raya yelled at Roìlona stood there, with a hand on her stomach.
Raya could see just for a moment a flash of guilt in Roìlonas face. It was as tho she felt empathy for Raya.
Roìlona couldn't imagine how it felt to have your babies ripped away from you.
She then mouthed the words "I'm sorry" to Raya as she watched her get tied down.
"You sick bastard!" Raya yelled trying to get away.
Just as Roìlona approached Raya they heard war cries.
"Their here boss! The whole clan!"
Roìlona looked at the man confused and shook her head. "That can't be!" She yelled pushing past Raya to walk to the railing of the ship.Raya looked behind her to see the clan riding on skimwings towards the ship.
Roìlona looked back at Raya and paced over to her grabbing her queue. "How did they find you!" She yelled.
Raya winced in pain as she struggled to get her words ou. "I don't- I don't know." She lied as she watched fear spread over Roìlonas face.
"You couldn't out run this, Roìlona." Raya said as she sat kneeled in front of her. "You can change this though. I know you're doing this to protect your family. We can protect you, all you have to do is let me go."
Roìlonas eyes softened as she looked around her frantically as everyone was gathering weapons ready to attack.
"Think about your baby." Raya said calmly and Roìlona placed a hand on her stomach. "We can protect you and your family."
Roìlona closed her eyes and took a deep breath before smiling at Raya.
"Can you really?" She asked quietly.
"Of course, you just need to give me my babies and come with me."Roìlonas smile faded and she shook her head no.
"Kyena will kill me. He's loyal to Quaritch. He'd never allow that."
"He'll never know."Roìlona thought about it for a moment before smiling. "Let's go find your babies."
——As the clan made their way to Raya's location Neteyam couldn't help but worry something had happened to her.
As he was zoned out following Jake on his skimwing he imagined a life where they were two other people.
People who didn't fight in a war constantly and could raise their children in peace.
Jake looked back at him and frowned. "We'll find her, I promise." Jake said smiling.
Neteyam nodded and continued thinking about Raya.He thought about her beautiful yellow eyes and how the sun reflected off of them. He thought aboher sweet laughter and her soft smile.
He thought about how she loved the forest and the ocean. How she loved her sister, and her ikran. How she even loved her father and brother.
And how she loved him.
He was pulled from his thoughts as they arrived to a giant ship.
"We're here!" Jake yelled back to Neteyam and he looked at the deck of the ship through the scope on his gun.
And there she was.
She was kneeling on the ground talking to someone.
To Roìlona.
They didn't appear to be arguing. She was smiling at her. Neteyam guessed she was trying to compromise with her.
Before he knew it, Roìlona was pulling her knife out of her holder and was frantically cutting the ropes around Raya's wrists.
They took off running into the ship and dissapeared behind a set of doors.
"Attack!" Tonowari yelled and the clan followed his orders as they got their weapons ready.
Neteyam followed suit and made his way directly to the ship.
He was going to find his mate, and his children before it was too late.
