"Congratulations, Mr. Salvador"

"You always make us proud!" My Mom was teary eyed and My Dad was also speechless.

"I can already see the future Mayor..." hindi natapos ang sinabi ng political friend ni Dad ng magsalita siya.

"Tristan can be what he likes" sabi niya and I smiled. Being a Mayor like my Dad was not my dream at all.

"The Gracia Family is still in the number one spot in the Philippines. What's your plan?" Rinig kong usapan nila pero nakita ako ni Antony kaya hinila niya ako.

"Kuya this is so boring...sana ay tayong magkakapamilya nalang ang kumain" he said and I can't agree more. I kinda wished to spend this night sleeping because I'm still tired from my flight.

Nagising ako ng maaga dahil tumakas ako kagabi. Since the party was here in our house ay madali akong nakatakas sakanila. I just slept just like how I wanted.

"You're getting married" yan agad ang bungad sakin ni Dad when I sat in the dining area.

"You don't have a girlfriend right? You're so focused with studying that you forget about building a family, nak" sabi naman ni Mom.

"Who?" I asked.

"Ashley Emma Gracia"

Hindi sakin pamilyar ang dalaga ngunit pakiramdam ko ay may connection ito sa pinaguusapan nilang number one kagabi.

"I'll think about it" yan ang tangi kong sagot sa mga magulang ko.

They can't just tell me to marry someone I don't know should be the natural response...but I'm different.

I actually don't want to marry anyone because of love. With the help of this marriage I can also make our company number one. With this arranged marriage there's no expectation about what really LOVE is.

because my wife should expect that I also don't know how to make that word come to life.

I'm used to seeing my parents love each other so much that I already accepted the fact that I would never be able to give that kind of love to someone.

It's been a week and We're already here in the meeting place kung saan ko makikilala ang parents ni Ashley.

"Tristan, you're so tall and more handsome now" bati saakin kaagad ng Mom niya.

I already saw them before sa mga business gatherings and other events. Maybe it was when I was younger because the memories are not so vivid.

"Sorry, Ashley can't make it. May exams siya"

"It's fine" sagot naman ng Mom ko and I can feel that she's really close with the family.

That dinner ended with our parents talking about everything but business. I was more certain that marrying into this family is not bad because this is the first time that my parents didn't have to talk about business the whole time.
