Awoken by a commotion with Mia still asleep in my arms, I shifted slowly trying not to wake her up. I went towards the window and looked through the blinds. My eyes widened. I could see a few of Ryder's men outside pressing the owner of the motel. We weren't safe here. I ran to Mia's side of the bed.

"Mia, Mia!" I whispered loud enough for her to wake up.

"Whaaa— what's going on?" She asked in a sleepy voice.

"We need to go. Ryder's men is here." I said.

Mia jumped out of the bed. I quickly slipped on my shirt and tucked my gun at the back of my pants. I took her hand and we headed to the door. I opened it slowly trying to not make a sound. We tip-toed out the door and I stopped looking around the corner. I seen that one of the men had the older man by the collar. I looked the other way and seen there was a dirt path at the back of the motel. We made our way towards the path and ran.

"Where are we going? Why are we running? Couldn't we just go back home?" I asked Alvaro trying to catch my breath.

"The only way is going back the way we came from and that's already been compromised. We gotta keep moving forward." He said.

"So where do you expect us to go?" I questioned.

We were startled by a Jeep that was coming towards us at full speed. The driver shot at Alvaro while the passenger hung out the door side, grabbing me. Everything happened so fast that I was hit on the head with a foreign objected which caused me to pass out.

I woke up in the middle of the floor with nothing but a light in my face. I got up and seen that I had a red satin sheet wrapped around my body. I held it close and looked around. My anxiety and fear was rising. To my left, there was a door. I ran towards it and tried pulling on the handle. It was locked. The lights began to turn on one by one in the spots where strangers sat, all around me.

The older men were dressed to the nines in expensive business suits and wearing Venetian masks, all sat in chairs, eyeing me. One person in particular I had seen was Ryder, who looked down on me, smirking. Backing up slowly in terror as I fell still clutching the satin sheet close to my body.

"Welcome gentleman—" said Ryder.

"This is the amazing and lovely Mia Salvatore, the daughter of one of the most feared leaders in the world; Luca Salvatore." He announced. Some of the men gasped while others mumbled amongst each other.

"Ah I forgot— Mia-soon to be Moretti. Shall we start the bid at 30 million?" He continued.

"33 million." Said one gentleman.

"37 million." Said another.

"I bid 40 million." Another.

"Do I hear 41?" Asked Ryder.

"45.5 million." Said another man.

"FUCK YOU!" I yelled. With every bid I snapped my neck in every direction.

"45.5 going once, 46.5 going twice—" called out Ryder.

"70 MILLION." Said one man sternly.

"WOAAAAHHHH!" Yelled Ryder as he sounded amused.

"70 million going once, going twice... SOLD! To the highest bidder!" Yelled Ryder. Everyone clapped.

Ryder's men grabbed my arms and I screamed and kicked as hard as I could. The men dragged me into a dark room and threw me in there. I laid on the hard, cold concrete ground. I hugged my knees and sat there in silence. I knew I had to do something. I know for sure no one knew where I was. A few moments later the door opened and walked in Ryder and the man who purchased me.

"She's a feisty one." Said Ryder.

"I bet." Said the man as he chuckled.

"Well I'll leave you too it." Said Ryder as he walked out and closed the door behind him.

The man walked closer to me and crouched down. He was still wearing the mask that covered his face. I stared at him. He caressed my face and touched the cut on my cheek. I shook his hand off.

"Don't worry I won't hurt you, at least not yet." He said as he smirked. My eyes narrowed at him. He slowly took off his mask.

"What do you want from me?" I asked.

"Not much, just for you to work for me." He said.

"And what if I don't? I'm no use to you." I said.

He took out his phone and showed me a video of my mom doing groceries. "Oh, but I've heard what you're capable of. We've been secretly following her for the last 2 days. I have all eyes on her and if you don't do as I say, I will have her killed."

My eyes widened as I looked at the video and at him. "Now what do you say?" He asked.

I knew that if I didn't do what he says, I could be the cause of my mother's death. I shook my head and agreed. He smiled. He took out a gun and put it against my arm, pulling the trigger as it pierces my skin. I yelped.

"I inserted a chip in your arm so I can track you whenever I want. If I catch you doing any funny business, I will instantly have her killed. Understood?" He said. I nodded.

"Great! My names Donavan Gambino some call me, Dios (God). I look forward to working with you, Mia Salvatore."
