Chapter Fifteen: Greco

I came back quietly as Ivan, Aurora, Axel and I stood in the kitchen. Mateo looked at Axel.

"She would not budge. Aurora insisted on being down here." Said Axel. Mateo rolled my eyes in annoyance.

I looked at Aurora as she scowled at me. Her arm was intertwined with Mateo's and her head rested on his shoulder. I could see that she was wearing the ring that Mateo had gave me in promise that we would get married as soon as we took care of business.

I looked back at Mateo and he has already had his eyes glued to me. Aurora looked up at Mateo and stood up straight.

"*AHEM—* anyway, why are you here?" She asked in an impolite voice.

I looked around at everyone. I guess it was time to tell them what happened.

"So basically I was captured, sold, chipped and bought by a man who's name is Donavan Gambino. Others call him Dios. He had surveillance on my family, specifically my mom. He was going to kill her if I didn't work for him." I said, playing with my fingers.

"That would explain the gash in your arm, huh?" Asked Ivan. I nodded.

"When Donavan found out that you and your men were trespassing that day, he took it as a threat. I honestly didn't think it would be you, so I had to let you go." I said looking at Mateo.

"Mariposa.." said Mateo. Both of our eyes lead to the ring that was once on my finger and is now on Aurora's hand. 

"Did he find out?" Asked Axel. I nodded.

"He did.. and I was punished for it." I answered.

I turned around in my chair and pulled down the neck of my shirt on one side of my shoulder. It revealed scars. Everyone gasped. I pulled the shirt back up covering my once exposed skin.

"He was going to personally kill you, but I begged and pleaded him to let me do it, so that I can redeem myself." I said.

"So wait a minute, you were going to kill my husband? Ughh!— this is just unbelievable." Said Aurora feeling annoyed.

"I removed the chip from my arm. It's not long before they find out I'm missing and kill my mom." I said.

"Do you actually believe this shit? For all we know she could be using this travesty as a distraction!" Said Aurora.

Aurora was really starting to get on my nerves.

"I wouldn't have fucking de-chipped myself and come here to put you all in danger if that were the case." I said narrowing my eyes at her.

"—BUT YOU ARE PUTTING US IN DANGER." She said raising her voice. I rolled my eyes.

"Listen, I know where Ryder is. He's about 60 miles north from here. He's located on a little island, but we would need a boat to get there. I'd have to go NOW and kill him before Donavan gives him word to kill my parents." I said with urgency.

"I'm coming." Said Mateo. Aurora looked at him in disbelief.

"—SERIOUSLY?" She questioned.

"Same with us." Said Axel.

"I'm not going to let you risk your life for this bitch!—" said Aurora throwing a tantrum.

Mateo quickly grabbed Aurora's left wrist and tightened his grip.

"Watch your fucking mouth." He said furiously. He swiftly pulled the ring off her finger and threw her hand away.

"We're done." He said as he walked out the kitchen.

Aurora was left speechless.

"You can't do this to me Mateo!" She cried.

We all began walking out the room one by one. She kept crying.

"You'll pay for this! I swear!" She yelled as she cried.

We made our way to the island. One way or another, we're killing Ryder. Tonight. Axel drove the boat while the others and I strapped up with our weapons. Mateo looked at me and I looked at him for a split second before going back to checking my gun.

"Why'd you leave me?" He asked breaking the tension and silence between us. I stopped and put my gun down.

"I had to. It was the only way I was able to buy some time." I said.

"I could've helped you Mia." Said Mateo.

"—You couldn't." I snapped at him. We stood quiet for a moment.

"Sorry." I said.

Axel and Ivan docked the boat while me and Mateo walked towards the island hide out. Ivan took out his binoculars.

"There's men posted on all entrances. We have to be incognito as possible if we want a clean get away." Said Ivan.

"How many are were talking?" Asked Mateo.

"More than us, at least." Replied Ivan.

One by one we took out the men who were posted and inside the building. We checked each and every single room, but Ryder was nowhere to be found, until..

"—WHAT THE FUCK?" Called out Mateo as we busted through a door. It revealed not only Ryder, but—

"Mr. Greco?" Questioned Axel. The three men were in shock. I looked around confused as ever. This man looked quite familiar, but I have never met him before. I looked at Mateo and he looked back at me seeing the confusion washed over my face.

"It's Aurora's father." He replied. I looked back at the two enemies who stood before us. Ryder looked at my arm.

"I see you've removed your chip, pet." He added. I rolled my eyes.

"You're too late. Once I push this button on my phone, it'll signal my men to kill your mother." Said Ryder.
