In Kanade's room, where Shinonome Ena and Kanade Yoisaki were speaking in low voices, Asahina instantly felt at home. The warmth surrounded her, but not how suffocating the warmth of her house was. This felt...different.

"Fuyu!", Kanade called, jumping up from her pillow seat, and suddenly hugged Asahina. She didn't know how to react, since affection like this was a rare thing in her home, reserved for her most  exceptionally successful endeavors, like school.

Fuyu. The word makes me feel warm inside. The warmth I need. I wonder if I...Asahina pondered.

She hugged Kanade back, realizing she didn't return the gesture. After a moment or two, she cleared her throat, drawing back embarrassed.

I think...I really like her. Kanade's always been there for me. She always had been trying to save me with her music. I really really like her. The thought of it made Asahina smile.

She plopped down beside Ena, her hair in its usual style, with a braid on the side. She wore a yellow sweater over her polo, and a warm expression. She was drawing, and suddenly looked up at Asahina.

"Hey, Yuki", Ena said, smiling, "I heard about you being out in the rain?"

Asahina remembered then, the pain her evil mother had delivered.

"Y-yeah...My mom threw out all my stuff." Asahina looked down at the carpeted floor, her eyes flooding with tears. The wounds marked in her heart made pain feel so real, so inescapable. Something she couldn't bear.

She collapsed into Ena's arms, and sobbed hard.

Ena looked to Kanade, and Kanade rushed down towards Asahina. She pulled Asahina from Ena's arms, and held her close. Asahina gasped.

The warmth surrounding Asahina made her feel as if she'd have a heart attack.

Would I be able to have a heart-attack because of a good thing?

She knew, that if she did, it would be because of her.

Because of her lady, K.

All of her friends looked at her for a moment, then at each other, and continued to do what they had done previously. But Kanade stayed with Asahina, as if she was willing to protect her forever.
