Asahina laid on her bed, letting the sun soak into her room. She'd rather burn to despair rather than talk to her mother. It had been weeks since the incident, and she utterly refused to talk to her mother.
The enemy.
She sighed in frustration, getting up and kicking her mattress. Her phone was dead, because she had been deprived of her charger, so she couldn't talk to her friends. And they didn't even go to her school. And so, she was alone. Because of her.
The enemy.
She couldn't leave the house unless she had a parent with her, except for school. School would start tomorrow, an eternity away. The summer had been wasted, uselessly corrupted.
And it was all because of her.
The enemy.
Her mom would send food, but, she wasn't hungry. She felt empty, but not in a sense where food would help.
She wouldn't eat another meal made by her mother.
For all Asahina knew, it was poisoned.
And so, she cooked it when her mother was away, when her father was home to watch her from his long stretches of work, pitifully. Silent. Ashamed. Not of her, she thought, but of the life he decided to allow himself to live. He didn't say much otherwise; he wasn't allowed. Because of her.
The enemy.
