Chapter 18

Marie's pov;
Today is Tuesday and its night already. I was going out of the bathroom when I saw Danielle sitting on my bed.
I said, " Danielle? Why are you here?"
She didn't answer but just looked at me. I saw her tears dropping. I went to my bed and sat beside her.
I said, " What happened?"
She said, " Can I sleep here?"
I said, " Why?"
She said, " He's back again."
" Don't tell me it's Adrian again?"
" Yes, and I think he's back again because I'm with someone else."
" He's gone already. I'll call Jeremy today to tell him to stay with you for two days."
" I still got our memories in my room, and it's inside the cabinet."
" What do you want to do with it?"
" I want to throw it tomorrow."
" Okay. Now let us sleep and get ready for tomorrow."
" Okay."
I waited for to sleep then I fell asleep after it. The next day, we arrived in school and I saw Jeremy waiting for Danielle. When we went outside we went to Jeremy.
She said, " Jeremy can we not talk today I just need some space."
He said, " Okay."
She went inside her classroom, then Jeremy looked at me.
He said, " What happened?"
I said, " Actually you need to know the truth."
He said, " Go on."
" Before she met you. She got a boyfriend in Dubai. His name is Adrian. They got a relationship for a long time until he said something to her. He told her that he is dying because of his cancer. A few days later she noticed that he's been absent for four days. Until she got a news from his parents that he's dead. For a month, she can't let go of him. So my parents decided to bring us back here in Cebu to forget what happened.
" So now you explained to me everything I will go to your house today and take care of her."
" That's what I wanted you to ask. If you can stay with her for two days?"
" Sure as long as she is safe."
"Thanks Jeremy."
" No problem. I'll be there on time. I just need to get my clothes."
After we talked I went to my classroom and sat on my chair. After classes, I went to the classroom of Dave with a worried face. When he went near to me, he looked at me for a while.
He said, " Are you fine?"
I said, " Maybe? I can't believe Adrian is part of her life."
He said, " Don't worry he'll get lost on her mind soon."
I said, " I wish so."
He put his hands on my face and let me look at him.
He said," Hey. Don't worry everything is going to be fine."
I said, " yeah."
He hugged me for while and then let go of me. We walked going to the back gate holding hands.

Jeremy's pov;
After classes, I walked Danielle going to the back gate so she can feel secure. When we reached at the back gate I saw my carpool was there.
I said, " So I need to go. Don't worry about him okay, be strong."
She said, " Okay."
I kissed on her forehead and went inside my carpool. When I arrived at my house, I told my mother that I will be staying at their house for two days. She said it is fine for her. I went inside my room and get my clothes and things for school. After I said goodbye to my mother, I went outside and grab a taxi. When I arrived at their house, I smelled fire. So went to their back yard and saw Danielle burning something, and saw her arm burned. I ran to her get carried her away from the fire.
She said," Jeremy let go of me!"
I said, " Not unless you stop burning those."
I put her on the ground and looked at her arm.
I shouted, " Marie! Marie!"
Marie said, " What!?"
I shouted, " Bring the first aid kit!"
I saw her running towards us and gave me the first aid kit.
Marie said, " Danielle! What the heck were you doing. You told me you're going to throw those not to burn."
She said, " It's the only way.. Wait, ow.. Ow"
I said, " Next time don't do that again ok. See your arm is not in a good condition. I'll call Joy."
Marie said, " I'll be the one. You stay her and take care of her."
I said, " ok."
When Joy arrived, she went running towards us bring first aid kit.
Joy said," What happened?"
I said, " Danielle got burned on her arm while she was burning those."
She said, " Did you turned the fire off?"
I said, " Marie turned it off."
She said, " Let me took a look of it."
Danielle showed her arm and Joy took a good look of it.
She said, " Jeremy hold her okay. Danielle this is going to be hurt."
I said, " Okay."
I put her in my arms and hold her hand. Joy put some water on it, then grabbed a cotton with a little bit alcohol. She wiped it on Danielle's arm slowly. I looked at Danielle and saw her crying.
I said, " Shhh... Don't cry. I'm here."
I kissed her cheeks and wiped her tears. After Joy finished wiping her arm with cotton, she get the bandage , and cut it and folded it. She put the bandage on Danielle's arm, she put some tapes so it won't fall off.
She said, " It's finished already. Jeremy take her inside and I'll talk to you for a while."
I let her stand on her feet and walked going inside. Then she was walking so weak then she fall off. I catch her and carried her to the sofa. I told Marie to get water, and Joy kept on fanning her. Marie gave me the water and let Danielle sip on it a little.
I said, " Marie take care of her first me and Joy are going to talk first."
We went outside, and stand on the corner.
She said, " Jeremy, she got a little burn on her arm, and here's a bandage and tape so you can change the dressing after she gets a wash. And also she got dehydrated so she needs a lot of vitamin c."
I said, " Thanks for the help Joy. I know I can trust you."
She said, " No problem. So I need to go. Bye."
" Bye."
I went inside and saw her resting on the sofa. I went to the kitchen and cooked for dinner. After cooking I placed the food on the table and went to the sofa to check on Danielle.
I said, " Marie go to the table already. Food is ready. I'll be the one to take care of her."
Marie said, " Okay I'll wait for the two of you, and your things are already inside her room."
I said, " Thanks."
I went to the sofa and looked at her. I swept her hair and looked at her face while sleeping.
I whispered, " Waky waky . Food is ready."
She said," Okay!"
She sat and stood up. I helped her walk to the table and she took a seat. After we ate dinner, we went inside her room, and Marie said that she will be in her room. I get my things for school and worked on it. I helped her on doing it too.
She said, " Jeremy, can you please tell Marie to help me taking a bath?"
I said, " Sure."
I went to Marie's room and told her that Danielle needs her help. After she took a bath, I put on the new bandage on her arm. I went inside the bathroom and took a bath. When I went out of the bathroom, I saw her sitting and kept on staring at the window. I sat beside her, and told her to great on the bed. We went to her bed, then she started crying.
I said, " Danielle look at me."
She looked at me.
I said, " Shhh. Stop crying."
I wiped her tears and hugged her.
She said, " Thanks for being with me."
I said, " It's okay. I'll be always beside you."
I kissed her then we kept on kissing until we were lying on the bed. We stopped kissing, then she put her head on my chest.
She said, " Goodnight Babe."
I said, " Goodnight and have a sweet dream too Babe."
I turned off her lamp and we went to sleep. The next day, I woke up early, and carried her to Marie's room so she won't be alone in her room. Then, I went downstairs and cooked breakfast. After I cook, I went to Marie's room and woke them up. Marie woke up but Danielle didn't.
Marie said, " Don't worry I'll wake her up."
Marie woke her up.
Danielle said, " Ughhhh. Wait."
She sat down then, stand up. she was going hold me using her left arm, which was burned but she didn't.
She said, " Babe my arm is not moving."
I said, " are you sure?"
She said, " I can't feel it."
Marie said, " Jeremy we need to take her to the hospital."
I said, " Okay go downstairs and pack the breakfast, while me and Daniel are going to change. You will go to school today okay. Don't worry about the two of us."
Marie said," Okay."
She went downstairs, and we went to Danielle's room to change. as went down Marie gave me the pack of breakfast.
I said, " Take care of yourself okay."
Marie said, " Okay."
We went outside and grab a taxi. I called Joy, then she answered.
I said, " Joy you need to take care of Marie okay. Me and Danielle are going to the hospital."
She said, " Okay but why."
I said, " Her arm is not moving."
She said, " Okay. Just call me if she is ok already."
I said," okay."
I needed the call and we went inside the emergency room. After a few unites, I was sitting outside the room waiting for the doctor to go out. When the doctor went out of the room, she went near me.
She said, " Are you the boyfriend of the girl?"
I said, " Yes doc, what happened?"
She said, " When did she got the burn?"
I said, " Yesterday."
She said, " Actually, it was neatly done but her muscles on her arm are also affected so she won't move it a little bit."
I said, " Doc, when will she get out?"
She said, " Maybe later, after I give the medicine for her arm."
I said, " Ok thank you doc. "
She said, " You're welcome. Go get inside so she could have your support."
I went inside the room and saw her resting. I sat on the chair beside her, and kissed her forehead. After a few hours later, I looked on my watch and saw that it was already 8:00 in the morning. I woke her up then we ate breakfast.
