Sol had been feeling off for a few days. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but she had a sense of foreboding that wouldn't go away.

Althea and Finley had noticed her unease and had been keeping a close eye on her. They made her favorite meals, brought her tea, and even went on walks with her to try and lift her spirits.

But nothing seemed to work. Sol still felt like something was wrong.

One night, as she was sitting in her room, Sol heard a knock at the door. She hesitated for a moment, wondering who it could be at such a late hour.

But when she opened the door, she found Dulahan standing there. Dulahan was the messenger of death, and Sol couldn't believe her eyes.

"Sol," Dulahan said, her voice grave. "I have come to warn you. Your time is near."

Sol felt a cold shiver run down her spine. She had heard stories about Dulahan before, but she never thought she would actually come face to face with her.

"What do you mean?" Sol asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Dulahan looked at her with pity in her eyes. "I am sorry, Sol. But it is your time to go. You must prepare yourself."

Sol felt a sense of panic rising inside her. She didn't want to die. Not yet, anyway.

But Althea and Finley were doing everything they could to protect her. They had set up wards around the house, and were taking turns keeping watch. But Sol knew that it might not be enough.

She couldn't bear the thought of leaving them behind. Of never seeing their faces again. Of never feeling their embrace.

As the night wore on, Sol tried to stay calm. But every creak of the floorboards, every rustle of the wind, made her jump.

Althea and Finley were doing their best to keep her spirits up. They told her stories, made her laugh, and held her hand when she needed it.

But Sol knew that they were scared too. They didn't want to lose her. They didn't want to face a future without her.

As dawn broke, Sol felt a sense of relief wash over her. She had made it through the night. Maybe Dulahan was wrong. Maybe she still had time.

But as Althea and Finley left to get breakfast, Sol couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled in her chest.

She knew that they were doing everything they could to protect her. But she also knew that death was inevitable. And that, no matter what, it would come for her eventually.
