My world was falling apart. I simply stared at him. The boy I was in love with. The one I thought would support me through this whole Ghostface thing. I thought he was a friend. A good person.

But here he stands, in my college room, grinning like the devil himself. He was holding a sharp knife and a Ghostface mask. The mask looked grey and old, like it had been used for years.

"You killed Anika." I whispered. I stared at the knife in his hand, wondering how many lifes it had taken.

Ethan grinned and tilted his head.

"Anika shouldn't had been friends with them. She was just in the way, you know?"

"What...?" I swallowed hard, the action nearly choking me. How can he speak of her so casually? "You're a heartless monster."

"I may be heartless, but you're naive." He snapped, as his grin turned into something sharp and wicked.

"How am I naive?" I asked, while taking a step back.

"You defended me when Mindy accused me of being Ghostface." Ethan explained, while pacing around in my room. He had been here before. Back in the day when we would spend the day in bed together, watching documentaries and eachother. Those days has now left a bitter aftertaste.

"I really thought I knew you." I said, feeling defeated. I hate him. He killed Anika, my best friend. She was one of the few people who was kind to Ethan. Many people, even in our friendgroup, didn't treat Ethan all that well. But she had always shown him kindness.

The sadness inside of me started to slowly turn into anger.

"That was naive. You're usually so smart, Y/n." Ethan turned away from me and looked at my bookshelf. At one of the framed pictures of our friendgroup. It was a few months old, but it was still my favorite photo.

"Ethan?" I stepped closer to him, making him turn towards me with an empty expression. As I got closer, I angled my face up. "I'll kill you myself."

Ethan looked at me and then offered me a smile. I recognised that smile. I had seen it so many times before. But now it felt foreign.

Before I could blink, Ethan trailed the edge of his blade down my throat. He paused at a vein, which was throbbing violently beneath my skin. I immediately shoved his hand away and stepped back. That, somehow, made him chuckle. What kind of psychopath is he?

"You sure are cute when you're making death threats." He smiled, looking at me like I intrigued him. I glared back at him with disgust.

"You disgust me. I'll kill you for what you did to Anika."

"Sure, try." The arrogance which was emitting from him made me even more angry.

He's nothing but a monster. And I will chase him down like the monster he is.
