The red on Ethans clothes couldn't be anything else but blood. I, at first glance, thought it was fake blood. The kind you throw on your normal clothes if you haven't gotten a halloween costume yet.

I had been waiting for him in his college dorm room, the one he shares with his friend Chad. Chad wasn't here, so I took the opportunity to clean up a bit before Ethan got home.

Ethan eventually came home, an hour later than he said he would. He glanced at me quickly.

"Oh, hi gorgeous." He said, smiling warmly. With one hand, he pulled his shirt over his head, ruffling up his brown hair. I stared in awe at his bare upper body. I've seen him without a shirt many times before. But I'm still amazed by his beauty each time he does it. So I stare, without shame and without guilt.

I barely had the time to say hi before he had locked himself in the bathroom. I heard the shower running. I also heard Ethans less than good singing. He sings in the shower, I think that's adorable.

And then, I had the thought that I would do something nice for Ethan. I had decided to wash his clothes for him. You know, like a little housewife. He's been so stressed out lately, jumpy. I just wanted to do something for him. So therefore, I started picking up the clothes that were laying around. A pair of dirty socks, a hoodie. I love him, but he is so messy.

I walked over to the shirt that he had taken off earlier. I picked it up, but it felt stiff. I turned it around, and the fabric was dark red. What the...?

I knocked on the bathroom door, making Ethan open it. For a short second, I forgot what I was going to ask. Ethans wet hair and the towel around his waist didn't leave much to the imagination.

Pull yourself together, woman. I breathed in and showed him the shirt.

"Ethan, what is this?" I asked. He blinked.

"Oh, I- Uhm." He paused and scratched his neck, he looked so stressed. "I spilled sauce on it."

"Stop lying to me."

"Y/n, I'm not."

"Then why were your clothes bloody?"

"I, uhm, I strangled a cat?"

"You did WHAT?"

Ethan looked up at the ceiling, then down at me.

"God, no Y/n, of course I didn't kill a cat. You can't put me in the spot like that, I get stressed. Well, I accidentally cut myself while cooking earlier."

I burrowed my eyebrows. "I don't see a cut on you."

A small smirk immediately formed on his face. "Do you want to examine me?" He was joking, but that question made me throw a glance at his body again.

I could feel my cheeks heating up. I chose to ignore that.

"Ethan, be honest. This is too much blood to just be a paper cut."

Ethan lost the smirk, and walked up to me. He gently grabbed my chin and forced me to look up at him, into his brown, warm eyes.

"I swear that you have nothing to worry about. Do you trust me?" He asked, staring into my eyes.

I breathed out. "Yes, I do, but-"

"Then please just trust me now, Y/n." Ethan leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on my forehead.

I nodded and decided to drop the subject. Deep down, I knew that I didn't really buy his explanation. But it's Ethan. Why would he lie to me?
