Chapter 11: Roses

"Don't you want to have a dinner with me?"

"A dinner with you?"

"Ugh of course! Do we have somebody else here??" mukhang inis na talaga siya kaya nakagat ko ang loob ng labi ko sa hiya.

"Constello, ano kakain ka ba or—"

"Yeah, I do, professor!" walang paligoy-ligoy kong sagot. My heart can't stop beating loud and fast na para akong bibitayin.

Inayos ko muna ang pagkakapark ng kotse ko bago naligo sa pabango dahil hindi ko na nagawang palitan yung shirt ko kanina na natuyuan na lang ng pawis. I don't have a bad odor yet I still feel conscious around the professor.

"Really, Constello? I'm not sure kung ayos pa ba 'yang ulo mo? If I hadn't ran after you then you prolly left me alone here" masungit nitong bungad habang nakapamewang pa.

"Sorry na, madam. Akala ko kase si Kinsley imimeet mo rito" I caressed my nape in embarrassment.

"And why do you think I'll meet him here?" siya naman ngayon ang nagtaas ng kilay. Hmp ang sungit talaga!

"Because he's your boyfriend?" hindi siguradong sagot ko. Noon ko lang naalala yung singsing na suot-suot niya palagi kaya napadpad naman ang tingin ko roon.

Wait— if Kinsley is her boyfriend and she always wears this ring then presumably he's her fiancè? No fucking way!

Bigla-bigla naman akong nainis sa naisip. Professor Del Valle doesn't deserve someone as immature as Kinsley and that boy is so freaking unpleasing, wala man lang kagwapuhang taglay. Ekis hindi sila compatible sabi ng radar ko!

Nadatnan ko na lang ang propesora na papasok na sa loob kaya mabilis akong humabol. The restaurant attendant abruptly welcomed the both of us the moment we set our feet inside.

"Good evening, ladies! Welcome to Verde Haven, the freshly opened restaurant in the city!" he was smiling from ear to ear pero hindi ko nagugustuhan ang malagkit na tinging ipinupukol niya sa professor ko.

Agad kong hinuli ang kamay ni Miss Zera at hinila siya palapit sa'kin para makuha ang atensyon nito.

"Constello, let go of my hand" she whispered through her gritted teeth as though she's warning me.

Nginitian ko lang 'to bago isinabit ang iilan sa mga strands ng buhok niyang nakalugay sa likod ng tenga niya.

"Professor, just let me do this. Wala namang masama kung gagawin natin 'to unless bibigyan mo ng malisya" mahinang sagot ko sabay sulyap sa attendant na lumukot na ang pagmumukha.

She just rolled her eyes which I returned with a chuckle. I hate to admit this but she looks sexy every time she rolls her eyes. Tangina epekto lang 'to ng pagkabagok ko kanina.

We walked further until we were led into this vacant table right beside the window. I even pulled a chair for her bilang paggalang.

"Thanks" she uttered before soothing herself.

Upon settling on the chair opposite to her, I wandered my eyes around. Ang daming tao kaya mabuti at may naupuan pa kami.

The ambience is giving me a serene feeling yet I could imagine the area in a romantic atmosphere by having a soft music and candle lights.

"Isn't it romantic to have a dinner date here with your partner?" I muttered before returning my eyes to the woman with me.

"Romantic? How can you say so? Do you even have a partner?"
