Sliding out of the portal, Marco and Moc laughed. "You know, this was fun. We should race more often. I definitely need to spend some more time with Nachos." Marco slid off, petting under Nacho's chin as she rumbled happily.
Moc snorted, flipping off Flameo's back. "Of course we do. With the whole mess going down, all your attention has been focused on Star and Solar. Let yourself have a break and stop leaving me out of things. I was a day away from kidnapping you."
"We should kidnap Solar. He could use the break."
"Fuck yeah! I heard rumours that Galabori of the Sixnath dimension was back. It could be a fun adventure. After the whole trial thing."
"Trial? What trial?"
"You know, Eclipsa's trial?"
"Eclipsa's on trial?! Why doesn't Star tell me about these things?" Marco rubbed his eyes as he turned.
"Where are you going?"
"To find Star!"
"Somehow, I don't think Star is ready for a level 5 Marco rant." Moc paused, looking at her dragon cycle. "Eh, she'll be fine. Who wants steaks?!" The dragons roared in excitement as Moc let Marco wander off.

Kicking open the door, Marco glared at Star. "Star Butterfly! I thought I told you to stop hiding things from me- is that Eclipsa?"
Eclipsa gulped, waving awkwardly. "Hello."
"Marco, are you okay?" Solar gently stood up, walking over as Marco sighed.
"I'm fine. But Star didn't bother to tell me that a giant trial was going on with Eclipsa."
Star jumped up, staring at Marco. "You didn't know? I thought Hakapoo would have told you."
"Have you met Hekapoo? She doesn't tell me anything. She just rocks up at my door, grabs me and drags me on an adventure. She's a little like you in that way."
Star blinked. "What?"
Marco let out a deep breath, wrapping his arms around Solar and petting his hair.
"You okay?" Solar chuckled as Marco nodded.
"I'm fine. Fine. Fine. Fine. What are you even doing here?"
Solar paused, looking down. "I think I've been spending time with my... grandma?" Eclipsa waved happily as Solar sighed, leaning into Marco's side. "It's been a long day."
Marco chuckled. "Wanna go home?"
Solar smiled. "That'll be nice." He paused, looking back at the others. "Bye."
"See you soon, sweetie!" Eclipsa waved more as Solar sighed. Marco opened the portal and walked into their house.
~~~
Hekapoo took a deep breath as she walked into the house. "Yo, Marco, you here?" Hekapoo paused, stepping into the living room.
She looked at Marco, cuddled up in Tom's arms with Solar's head on his lap. Marco looked back, not stopping from brushing Solar's hair. "What's up?"
Hekapoo sighed, rolling her forehead. "Listen, I have to go to this trail thing, and as a member of the council- in training- you're required to attend to it. So, get up; we're doing boring paperwork things."
Hekapoo grabbed the back of Marco's jumper, pulling him off the sofa and dragging him through the portal. Solar sat up, having fallen to the floor. "Should we do something?"
"Do you want to battle her?"
"Nope." Solar paused. "Let's just hope it goes well."
Tom looked over at Solar as he grew nervous. "Want me to finish your hair?"
"You know how?"
Tom chuckled, grabbing the brush. "Of course I do."
The gravel banged against the table. "All rise! The court of the Magical High Commission is now in session. Her Majesty, Queen Moon of Mewni, presiding."
Queen Moon walked to the highest chair, looking down at Eclipsa. "Thank you. We are gathered here today for the trail of Eclipsa."
Before Moon could start, the door was thrown open as Sean struggled to get in. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry I'm late!" He pushed the typewriter across the room.
Hekapoo shook her head as she shared a look with Marco, both looking unimpressed. "We should have got you to write it."
"I can't write Mewni."
"Still would have been more legible than his." Hekapoo chuckled as she and Marco laughed.
Below, Sean was still struggling. "We haven't had a trial in so long; I didn't know where to find the typey thingy. Usually, Rhombulus just crystallises everybody. With his laser eye. But a real trail! This is exciting!"
"That depends on where you're sitting."
"As I was saying, we're gathered here today for the trial of Eclipsa." Moon struggled as Sean typed loudly. She glared at him as he typed softer. "We shall determine once and for all whether Eclipsa has committed the evil deeds recorded in our histories. If she is found guilty, the punishment will be-" Moon couldn't finish as Rhombulus jumped up.
"Death! Death!"
"Rhombulus, we talked about this."
"Well, we crystalised her last time. Look how that turned out! Death!"
"Hey! Sit down."
"Yes, ma'am."
"Well, that's all in order, but what is she doing here?" Hekapoo moved out of the way, revealing Star. "This is supposed to be a private hearing!"
"What? Marco is here."
"Marco is a member of the commission. He is allowed to be here. You, on the other hand, have no reason to be here."
Moon turned to the others, an agitated look in her eyes. "Star was the one who convinced me to hold this trial in the first place. If Eclipsa is found guilty, I want her to be here to see it."
"Or," Star interrupted, "if she's innocent, which she is, I wanna see all y'all's faces when you realise how wrong you were."
"If you think you can just waltz in here-"
"I can waltz wherever I want!" They continued to argue as Rhombulus jumped up, causing Moon to scream.
Marco sighed, standing up. "That is enough! Listen, unlike you lot, I have an actual job to do. So, if you're just going to argue, I'm leaving. If not, let's begin. What evidence have you brought us, Queen Moon?"
Moon took a breath, turning and pulling out a large stack of paper, slamming it on the table. "I'm afraid this is the evidence."
"And now I know why you didn't tell me before today."
