Part 31~Run

"Turdina! I'm getting bored!" Meteora leaned on her side, playing with Ponyhead before throwing her to the side. "Well, I guess I'll just be on my way."

Marco gulped, turning away from Meteora. "All right, we gotta come up with a new plan."

Hekapoo smiled, holding up her hand. "Oh, I got one. Let's run for it! We could just hang at the tavern, wait for this thing to blow over."

Talon held up his hand. "I second that."

"That does sound pretty good," Kelly agreed as Marco sighed, hugging his knees.

"But then, what happens to our friends?"

Solar smiled, wrapping his arms around Marco. "Marco's right. We can't give up yet. We're on a mission from the acting queen!"

"Wait, she's not even queen?!" Talon gritted his teeth as Hekapoo sighed.

"Marco, the plan didn't work, man."

Marco lowered his head, leaning into Solar's side. Tom watched the group, taking a breath. "Well, of course, it didn't work! I thought we all knew that when he named it 'The Doom Nut.' Look, we're not following Marco's plans because they're good. We're following them because he's Marco. He is gonna come up with another terrible plan, and when that one doesn't work out, he'll come up with another, and then another. That's why he's our leader, 'cause he's just dumb enough to never give up."

Marco stared at Tom, smiling shyly as he played with his hair.

"Hey, inspirational speech and all, but I ain't gettin' my dang soul sucked out of me!" Talon growled as Tom sighed.

"We'll take a group photo."

"I'm in."

Moc snickered before they grinned. "Well, what are we gonna do about those eyes?"

"We could put some shades on her. That'll keep her cool." Talon grew agitated as the group shot down his ideas.

Marco hummed, tapping his chin. "Guys, I got a plan."

Hekapoo screamed as she ran through the portal, almost running straight into a tree.

"Over here!" Marco waved at Hekapoo as she swerved, charging forward and opening another portal, jumping through.

Meteora huffed, pausing as she passed the now-closed portal. "Your friends are doing all the fighting for you? Are you afraid, Turdina?"

"Turdina fears no one!" Marco screamed as he jumped out of the trees, covering Meteora's eyes with a layer from her dress. "Kelly!"

Kelly pressed a button, wrapping a hook around a tree as she nodded at Talon, who took off, his dragon cycle circling the trees.

Tom jumped up, chanting as his axe glowed. He flew around, cutting through the trees. "Talon! Cinch the rope!"

Talon drove forward as the rope tightened, trapping Meteora in the trees. Talon and Kelly cheered as Solar and Moc came out of their hiding spot.

Marco jumped off Meteora, opening his dress as he floated down.

Tom grinned, running over. "That was amazing! I didn't think it would work that well!"

Marco grinned. "You shouldn't doubt me."

Solar cheered, hugging Marco and placing a kiss on his forehead. "You were amazing!" Marco blushed as he hugged Solar back.

"You're only making things worse for yourself," Meteora screamed as Marco rolled his eyes.
