As soon as the doctors were alerted to the fact that Adriane was awake, they practically rushed her. She felt her magic stir inside her, ready to defend its user, and she had to push it down in response. She didn't want to hurt anyone by accident.

Goku offered to stay near her the entire time the doctors were looking her over. Adriane was grateful he was willing to stay near her, while also feeling upset that she needed someone with her to get through a checkup. She was so used to getting through checkups without anyone comforting her that she shouldn't need someone with her this time. But she did, so she held Goku's hand as the doctor checked her wounds.

The doctor said that everything looked to be healing fine, but she was surprised to hear that Goku was the one who wrapped her wounds earlier. Feeling her face heat up in embarrassment, Adriane ducked her head as she was told that no one but Gohan and Goku could get near her without her magic throwing them into the wall.

"So, Adriane, what's the plan?" Goku asked her as soon as the doctor walked away.

Adriane frowned in thought, "Well, first things first, I need to see if I can find the ministry of magic for this area."

"What's that?" Turning, Goku and Adriane saw that Gohan had snuck closer and was listening to their conversation.

"The ministry of magic is like a normal ministry, it's just for magicals instead of non-magicals, I'm honestly surprised no one has come to see why there's been a large usage of magic in this area yet."

Rubbing her chin in thought, Adriane continued to speak, "It's surprising, they should have at least come to see who used the killing curse, it's illegal for a reason, and most ministries have a way to track the unforgivable curses."

"Why are they unforgivable?" Gohan asked, his curiosity something that Adriane smiled slightly at.

"There are three unforgivable curses, the first one is Imperio. It can be used to take complete and total control of a person; the person being controlled gets a warm, floaty feeling, where they want to do whatever the person who cast the spell on them says."

She looked at Goku and Gohan seriously, "It's dangerous because even if you told someone to jump off a cliff, they would do it with a smile on their face. Yes, you could use it for good, like stopping someone from doing something bad, like killing another, but more people used it for bad, so it was banned."

Shaking her head, she continued, "The next curse is called Cruciatus Curse, the incantation is Crucio. This curse causes the worst pain a person has ever felt, it activates all of your nerves at once, all of your pain receptors are active, sending pain throughout your body at full blast."

Shuddering as she remembered when it was used on her, she continued, "I've actually had this curse used on me; it's awful, if someone holds the curse on a person for long enough, you can fry their brains, send them into a vegetative state."

Her voice softened as she kept talking, ignoring the twin looks of horror on Goku and Gohan's faces. "My friend's parents had this happen to them, his mom was my godmother but she and her husband were cursed when me and Nev were only fifteen-months-old."

"The killing curse is the last of the unforgivables; it's one of the most dangerous ones as well. If it hits you, it kills you. You can use something like a wall to block it, but there's no magical shield that can block it. You can only dodge and run for the most part."

She sighed and continued, ignoring her dry throat, "You know the rumors that say if you kill someone you lose a part of your soul? The killing curse is where that comes from, if you kill with a knife, unless you want it to rip apart your soul it won't."
