Nick POV

The plane journey to Norway was possibly the most awkward ride I'd been on in centuries. With me and Caroline sat on one end of the private jet, whilst Bonnie sat and glared at us on the other side, glaring at us.

We sat in silence for most of the way, With the occasional comment from Caroline that would end in another awkward silence.

"Why?" Bonnie suddenly asked as we were flying over Britain,

"Why what?" I asked, even if I knew what she was alluding to,

"Why did you erase yourself? Take away our memories and leave?" She demanded,

Sighing I reclined, placing my hands behind my head, "Klaus would've found us. Found you, found the doppelganger. Way too early for anyone to handle. Whilst I hate them, the Salvatores plus Elijah us and Tobias. It's still bad odds, especially against Klaus, but It's better than before"

"So you left to protect us?" She asked,

I nodded, "I left to protect all of you yes. And what did I get for it" A low growl escaped my throat, "My daughter dead, the woman I loved turned into a vampire. And despite everything I tried to avoid, the stupid doppelbitch went and told Klaus where she was"

"Your daughter?" Bonnie asked in surprise, "How old actually are you?"

I shrugged, "I don't know, I lost count"

"Who was she?" She followed up,

"I don't know how well you knew her, but her name was Alexia" I explained, "But you may have known her as Lexi"

Shock filled her face, "As in Stefan's friend? The one Damon killed?"

"The very same" I chuckled, humourlessly "And what do I get on return, the cold shoulder from every single person I used to call friend. Now Elena I expected, but Tyler, Matt, you!"

Caroline lay a hand on my shoulder, easing me back into my seat that I'd crept to the edge of without realising, "I'm sorry" Bonnie whispered, "I didn't know"

"That was the point" I chuckled, "I wiped all knowledge of myself, I'd only been there a few months but it was enough to make it feel like home"

"I can't imagine how hard that would have been" She responded, "I couldn't imagine leaving home like that"

"If Klaus wins you'll either never have to, or will immediately" I reminded her, "Because if he doesn't kill you then you need to run. Run far enough away that nobody knows your name"

"Is he really that bad" She asked, fear lining her words,

I fully reclined looking out of the window, "Honestly Miss Bennet" I sighed, "He's worse"

-- Line Break --

We stayed in silence for the rest of the journey after that. With Bonnie no longer glaring at us, she was lost in thought gazing out of the window. Finally, when we disembarked, she talked again,

"What do you need me to do" Were the first words she said,

I retrieved a vial of blood from my pocket, "This is Elijah's blood. Using a certain spell, it should find his ancestral homeground"

"What spell?" She immediately inquired,

"I'll give it to you at the hotel" I explained as a limo pulled up in front of us, "We're booked into this lovely 5 star resort, courtesy of the Norwegian primeminister"

"The what?" Bonnie asked with a gasp,

"Oh she owed me a favour" I waved off, "Nothing serious, just a couple of rouge vampires i took care of for her"

With a wide open mouth Bonnie clambered into the limo, and was speechless until we reached the hotel. Once inside the room however I handed her the spell, "Over to you Miss Bennet" I told her before taking myself and Caroline out of the room. Didn't want our 'bad juju' to affect Bonnie and her spell.

"What are we actually looking for?" Caroline asked, "I know we're after the Mikaelson ancestral home, but what's there that we want"

"Ancestors" I replied, "Bones have power, especially bones from a bloodline as powerful as theirs"

She seemed to understand, "So Bonnie channels grandma Mikaelson's bones, uses the power to turn Klaus back to a mortal and then we kill him"

"Something like that yeah" I answered, "But first we need to find them"

My phone started buzzing, retrieving it from my jacket the caller ID revealed it was Toby updating me on Mystic Falls. Turns out Elijah had been daggered and they still had white oak ash.

I sent a quick message back, telling Toby to leave the dagger in Elijah but retrieve the ash. It could come in handy on a rainy day.

"All good?" Caroline asked,

Nodding I slotted my phone away again, "Updates from back home" I confirmed, "Got Toby keeping me updated about Elena and her suicide mission. I want to be ready if Klaus turns up before we expect him to"

She seemed to agree, I mean it was a plan that made the most sense. Especially when we're In this sort of situation. You know, all odds stacked against us and all that crap.

"How long does this take?" Caroline groaned, letting her head hit the back of her chair.

Thankfully I didn't have to answer, the door opened once more with Bonnie walking out. Map in hand,

"I've found it"
