Chapter 10

I raced to the first place I thought of. Speeding faster than I ever had before. In what felt like a heartbeat I reached Tobias' house and started scraping on the front door. Opening it hesitantly, Toby stood there warily. As soon as he saw me he slammed the door shut.

I whimpered at it, sensing the pain Caroline was in. I trotted around the back finding the back door. As I stared at it, it suddenly opened on its own. In a heartbeat I flew in, finding Caroline on the couch, still whimpering from the amount of vervain in her system. I slowly moved forward, rubbing my snout against her arm in an attempt to comfort her. I felt myself whimpered as she did more. Then Tobias re-entered the room. 

As soon as he saw me he grabbed a stake and ran towards me, I lowered my head in submission. Making him hesitate at the sight. 

"You're not going to attack me?" He asked, 

I shook my head, making him look at me like I'd just grown a third head, "You can understand me?" 

This time he got a nod. I turned my attention back towards Caroline, rubbing my head against her. She responded to me, laying her hand on my head, "Nick" she whispered deliriously, 

"Nick?" Toby exclaimed, looking at me in shock, "That's impossible" 

I looked around the room, looking for a blanket. He seemed to get what I was looking at and threw it over me. I don't know how I did it, but I felt my bones break again. Except this time nearly painlessly. But I still ended up panting and out of breath, "Nick?" Toby asked again, 

I nodded, "Hey there" I chuckled, sore all over, "Bet you didn't see this coming"

He'd given me time to clean up, wipe the blood off of my face and let me sit down. Then, after healing Caroline and waking her up, I explained what had happened. By the end they both sat there with shock on their face, 

"You're Leif Mikaelson" Toby sighed, "I guess the potion was meant to subdue your wolf rage, explains why you were never like Klaus" 

I nodded, "The difference with me is the curse was placed on me before I turned" 

"How did you turn then?" Caroline asked, "Because vampire blood doesn't work on wolves, does it?" 

I shrugged, "I don't know, all I know is that I'm a hybrid. And an actual Mikaelson" 

"The one prophesised to rule all the supernaturals" Toby laughed, "Long live the King your majesty" He bowed to me. 

Caroline and I just stared at him, "Sorry" He sat back in defeat, 

"I need to talk to Elijah and Klaus" I decided, "I don't care what he's done, they have answers and I need them" 

Caroline nodded, "Go, you'll be able to track them better with that puppy nose of yours" she mocked, trying to hold back her smirk, "Sorry I couldn't help it" 

Her and Toby laughed at my face, "I swear to god if one of you utters the phrase kicked puppy, Imma compel you again" 

"You can't!" Caroline laughed, "I'm a vampire now" 

"No..." Toby realised what I meant, "You bastard" 

"What?" Caroline asked, not realising what we meant, 

I smirked, "Caroline, If I'm a Mikaelson by blood... we can't confirm it yet but that means I most likely wasn't turned by another vampire" 

"But that would make you..." She trailed off, 

"An Original" Toby sighed, "You're a goddamn Original"

I stood in the woods, waiting for Klaus and Elijah to notice me as they stood chatting,

"... It appears you can change at will" Elijah sighed, 

I decided to make my presence known at this point, stepping towards them, "I guess that means I can to" I growled,

They both turned to me in shock, "Your curse is broken to?" Klaus laughed, 

"We need to talk" I told them,

Elijah nodded, "I imagined that would be the case, but you really should hear it from your mother" 

For the first time in nearly 5 centuries I watched Klaus agree with his brother, "It is not our tale to tell. Come, I will reunite us with our family" 

We drove in silence to where Klaus was storing them, Elijah traced his hand along his empty coffin. I didn't have time to react as Klaus drove a dagger into his back, "I did say I'd reunite you with our family brother" he growled as Elijah turned grey before collapsing into the coffin. 

I charged towards, ready to undagger my Uncle, when Klaus interrupted me, "We both know I'll win this" he challenged, 

However I turned to him and challenged him right back, "Will you? I'm not too sure about that anymore" I growled flashing my eyes which we'd figured out had changed since I became a hybrid, 

However Klaus just smirked, "Look at us" He laughed, "The two most powerful beings in the world, stood together!" 

"Undagger them" I ordered, 

However he shook his head, "Not yet" He replied, "I will however undagger your mother. This is an oath I will not break. We made it when you were cursed, that if you were to ever uncover this truth, she would be the one to tell you" 

He pulled open the lid to her coffin. It was the first time I'd seen her in years. I traced her cheek with my hand, "Mum" I whispered, 

Nick pulled out the dagger, but nothing happened, "Oh don't be boring sister!" he exclaimed, come say hi to your brother dear and your son, Leif" 

As soon as he said my real name she sat straight up, eyes wide, "You know?" she exclaimed, not caring about anything else in this moment

I nodded, 

"Welcome back mother"
