Nick POV

We regrouped at Tobias' house, a huge grin on my face,

"What's got you so chippy?" Caroline asked, a smile of her own on her face,

"This" I laughed, chucking her the moonstone,

Eyes wide she gasped, "How the fuck did you get this?"

"Katherine tried to barter it for her life" I explained, "I found it anyways"

"She's dead?" Caroline's entire posture changed into one of concern,

I shrugged, "She might be"

"Nick" She asked slowly, "What did you do?"

I smirked, "I just let Klaus know where she was, he'd be much worse to deal with"

"You talked to him!" She exclaimed,

"Just a text" I explained, "Nothing more"

Tobias sped in, out of breath, "I've found it" he exclaimed,

"What?" Caroline asked,

"I've found a way to save Bonnie!" He offered, "We can link her life to someone elses"

"We don't trade lives" Caroline immediately answered,

Tobias shrugged, "What if we found someone that deserved it?"

Caroline scoffed, "Then we're no better than Klaus"

I held my hand up, "Actually I may have a solution that both of you agree with"

Caroline raised her eyebrow, "You agree with this"

I smirked, "I have an exception"

Leading them downstairs, I opened the door to the basement, "When was this installed?!" Tobias exclaimed, "I have never seen this door before"

"Whilst you were at the library, I had someone install it" I answered,

There was a steel door with a padlock on it, "Whose in there?" Tobias groaned,

I threw the door open to reveal a chained and beaten Jules, "Nick" Tobias groaned, "I thought you killed her"

"Her death doesn't deserve to be that quick" I snarled, "But if we link Bonnie's life to hers, then she dies and Bonnie lives"

"Okay" Caroline agreed,

I smirked, all pieces of the plan slipping into place, "All we need to do now is wait till the next full moon and keep Elena alive"

"So there's no impending doom?" Caroline asked, a glimmer of hope in her eye,

"No..." I trailed off, dreading whatever she was cooking up, "Why?"

She then flashed us that grin, that can strike fear into any man.

Shopping. We were shopping for a 60s themed dance,

"Nickkkkk" Caroline whined, "I can't choose a dress"

Having already lived through the 60s, I knew exactly what I was wearing. Same with Tobias, but Caroline's pickiness had left us stood waiting for what felt like another lifetime. Which for us was saying something.

"What about this one?" I asked pulling out a black and white checked dress, "Plenty of people wore this I think"

She shook her head, "You think?!" She exclaimed, "I brought you two here because you were meant to be experts? You lived then?"
