Chapter Three

Sophie's POV:

"Sophie!! Get up, get up, get up!" Biana dragged Sophie out of bed. Sophie groaned and rolled over, covering her head with her pillow.

"Biana, it's 3 in the morning. Go back to sleep. I don't want to play Truth or Dare." Not after what happened with Fitz, she thought. After Fitz had confessed that he liked her, and Biana shooed everyone out of the room, they started officially dating. There was still the question of matchmaking, but Fitz was confident they would be on each other's lists. Sophie wasn't so sure. Who would match the Golden Boy with the girl with the freaky eyes and was raised by humans?

"Not Truth or Dare," Biana nudged Sophie. "We have to get ready for my mom's baby shower." Biana had explained this to Sophie ahead of time. Elvin baby showers were held when the baby was being born. That way, the mother had something to distract her, and the gender reveal was instant.

Sophie sat up. "It's happening now?" Sophie got out of bed and looked around. Fitz, Tam, Dex, and Keefe were still asleep, but Marella and Linh were nowhere to be seen. They were probably creating more outfits for the baby shower.

"I told you, baby showers are held when-" Biana started, but Sophie cut her off.

"When the baby is being born, I know," Sophie finished.

"Exactly! And that's not until noon," Biana told her. "Elves have exact timelines for this sort of thing. But we need to get you dressed up!"

"Noon?" Sophie asked. "You woke me up to get me dressed for a baby shower that's happening at noon? We have 9 hours. What in the world are you going to do to me?" Biana grinned evilly.

3rd person POV:

After a lot of arguing, yelling, being yelled at by the boys, makeup, dresses, shoes, and running around frantically, everything was ready for the baby shower. Keefe was dressed in a simple ice blue tunic that matched his eyes perfectly, Dex was dressed in a periwinkle almost human-like suit, and Fitz was wearing a teal flowy thingy that somehow looked great on him. Sophie and the girls were dressed as below:

"Wow," seemed to be all anyone could say when looking at the girls' outfits. Fitz could only keep his eyes on Sophie, and Sophie looked at Fitz the same way, while Dex looked like he was trying not to throw up. As for Tam, he looked tempted to punch Keefe as he teased him about liking Biana. Biana, on the other hand, pretended to be busy smoothing out imaginary wrinkles on her gorgeous dress.

"Let's go!" Linh said cheerily, snapping everyone out of their trances.

"Look who's excited to see a certain someone," Marella noted. Linh began to argue about being there for Della, but no one was buying it. Just then, Wylie walked inside the house. "Alden hailed me and told me about Della." he said, not giving any indication that he heard their conversation. He smiled at them, mostly Linh, who smiled back. Tam looked between the two of them and narrowed his eyes, but didn't say anything.

3rd Person POV:

They were outside the hospital, and after a few minutes, Della came out, sparkling with joy. "Meet little Sophia Vacker," she said, winking at Sophie. Biana immediately ran and picked her little sister up. Sophie smiled and went over to Biana. Sophia looked exactly like her mother, except she had Alden's teal eyes, a trademark in the Vacker family. Other than Alvar, obviously. Sophia looked up sleepily at her big sister.

"Hi," she chirped. Sophie almost had a heart attack right then and there. Then, remembering what Della had told her at Alluveterre, she laughed. They partied into the night.

Too soon, the Vacker family went back home, and everyone was really happy for them. Sophie got a lot of looks for being the person Della named her baby after.
