Poetry is about who you are and how you feel.
Sometimes it's just a stream of consciousness.
Not every poem needs to be an epiphany,
Often times
It's the simple things
That are the most impactful.

More than anything else
Poetry is a therapy.

When the words can't be spoken,
Or sentences come out broken,
When joy fills my very soul,
Or something a little more sorrowful,
Ink can still flow.

When hate overtakes me
Instead of tearing at my heart
I can rip the page
And hate that paper with all my might.

Rather than putting myself on the chopping block,
For the voices in my head to point at and mock,
I throw all of my emotions onto a page
Fill it with all my rage.
There's joy here too
Only
Not in multitude.

My writing is about escape
Allowing stress to abate.
Welcome
To my private place.

If you're reading this
Please
Give me some grace.
