Losing Hand

If anyone saw what is left of me,
They'd ask where the rest of me is.
They'd ask why I won't show them everything else.

What they don’t know is that I've shown all that I have

My hand was meant to have 7 cards
A straight in hearts.
But now all that's left
Is an 8
A 4
and a 3
That is all thats left of me.

There is a straight in clubs that is held by my brain.
And the ace came down and beat up the 9 of hearts.

After the first loss it seemed to all fall apart.
I never even had a chance to say goodbye.

The straight of spades
Belonging to my lungs
began to dig my grave
I wasn't even dead yet.

And through all of this
the straight of diamonds
Which my face held proudly
just turned their head
and kept putting up a front.

And that is why
You never knew
What the hell I was going through.
