She smiled. Even though she knew that it would never happen. She had no future with Tanjiro.

"What is going on here?" Kanao spotted Tanjiro opening the door for Daki.
"Nani?" Tanjiro shrugged, "She works at the same company as I do."
Kanao pointed to herself, "What about me? I work at the same company as you as well!"
"You're not going to work. You're staying home."
"NANI! I have to work too, baka!"
"No, you don't. Remember, my house, my rules."
Kanao rolled her eyes. Is this the childhood friend she got along with so well? If I weren't married to him, I'd be kicking his sorry a*s! As she watched Tanjiro leave, she had this strange melancholy feeling.
But she brushed it off.
I'm SO bored! Even work would've been more interesting as this. Kanao was laying on the couch, scrolling through Instagram, hoping to find something interesting.
Then she scrolled upon Aoi's instagram. She was with Tanjiro's assistant, Inosuke Hashibira.
The captions said, "I'm changing my last name, because I'm getting engaged!"
Kanao got up and went through her mail. HAI, HAI! The wedding invitation!
Then she sat down and thought about her own last name. She had three last names, and changed them against her will. It went from "Tsuyuri" to "Kocho" to "Kamado".
Wait a sec. She'd been married to Tanjiro, who was cruel and arrogant, but his family may not be as bad! I ought to pay them a visit! She got up, went outside, and called up a taxi.
Tanjiro was really enjoying time away from his annoying wife. Kanao's not the least bit as sweet as Daki-chan is. He took Daki to the local mall, and they shopped for hours.
He'd actually lied to Kanao. And Inosuke. Inosuke, he felt guilty about lying to. But the same did not go for Kanao. She deserved it.
"You know, I'm married to Kanao-chan, right? Well, I'm taking her on a date, so can you take over for me?" He'd said to his assistant. Obviously, Inosuke had agreed.
I wish I could apologize, but I can't so I'm going to accept it.
Tanjiro had let Daki buy whatever she wanted. Around twelve o'clock, they settled down at a nearby ramen shop.
They ordered two bowls and started eating in silence.
"Ano... Tanjiro-kun.." Daki broke the silence.
"Hai, Daki-chan?"
"Why was Kanao at your house?" Tanjiro flinched at the question.
"Ano.. have you not heard? We're... ano... married- but don't worry!" He added quickly when he saw Daki's hurt look, "It's a forced marriage. I will divorce her in a few years, so don't worry!"
"Hai!" Then he spotted Daki eating noodles happily. That was all that mattered.
"Konnichiwa- Ah! Kanao-chan!" Kanao saw her mother-in-law, Kie Kamado.
"Konnichiwa!" She said. Then she held out a basket, "I brought you some Mochi!"
Kie's face lit up, "Ah, arigatougozimasu, Kanao-chan! Come in!"
Wow. She's really nice. But nice oka-sans don't always raise nice sons. Kanao took off her shoes and placed them aside. She stepped into the big living room.
"Sit down, sit down, Kanao-chan!" She said cheerfully. Kanao took at seat on the couch.
"So was there any particular reason you came by the today?" Kie asked.
"No," Kanao said, "I just wanted to visit my in-laws."
"Oh!" Kie's face lit brighter, "How sweet! Well then, let's talk! How's life with my son?"
"Ano.."
"You may be honest with me."
Kanao felt so comfortable, she ended up sharing the whole story. "I'm not sure you remember, but Tanjiro-san and I were childhood best friends. Then I moved away at the start of sixth grade, and two years later, my parents died. Then Kocho-sama adopted me into his family. Days before the wedding, Tanjiro and I were dating, but then I cau-" She stopped herself.
I'm not ready to share that yet, just incase Kie-sama is just putting on an act. "Well, something happened and we came to hate each other. So, life's pretty miserable, but I have to repay my oto-san in someway, in thanks for his kindness."
Kie smiled, "Well you are very sweet. You may refer to me as 'oka-san' if you'd like."
"A-Arigatou, oka-san."
"And don't worry," her oka-san said, "I know my son hates you, but he'll open up to you soon. He never hates someone for long. Especially someone he loved."
Kanao honestly didn't care. But she couldn't say that to Tanjiro's mother's face. Kie was just too kind.
"Oh." Then she considered the idea. But soon she shook her head.
She smiled. Even though she knew that it would never happen. She had no future with Tanjiro.
