She left for the train to Osaka, never turning back again.

Kanao had the files ready. She had already packed everything, and was at the door of the beach house.

"What do you want now?" Tanjiro said, entering the room.

"Sign these papers." Kanao explained, "They're divorce papers. I already signed my place. I consulted with my lawyer a few days ago. She promised to take care of the rest."

Before she left, she slipped off that ring she'd been forced to wear everyday. She would now be free. Content filled her as she threw the luxurious babble at Tanjiro's smug face.

"Give that to your sore loser girlfriend, " Kanao sneered, "and tell her I wished her luck in her marriage with a b*stard. I bet you'll get a second divorce after you cheat on her in the future." With that, she left the house, slamming the door in the guy's face.

The moment his now ex-wife left, Tanjiro got a call from his parents.

"Hai?"

"We are SO mad at you, Kamado Tanjiro!" He heard his mother scream into the phone. He immediately knew what they were going to talk about.

"Kanao-chan was so sweet, and you lied to her!" It was his younger sister. She was there too?

"Listen," Tanjiro tried to explain, "She's not completely the victim here-"

"No. You cheated on her before! We know about that!" His mom said.

"Oka-san-"

"Don't!" Kie demanded, "I can't believe I raised such an idiotic son!"

He couldn't believe his ears.

"I am taking away your company!" His dad yelled into the phone.

Silence. Nani? For just that little thing!?

"Wait, oto-san, it's not that big-"

"Don't say it isn't that big!" Tanjuro yelled, "Cheating on your wife proved that you're a liar and a cheat. You'd cheat to get money for your benefit. Nezuko helped Kanao-chan find out about this. She's trustworthy enough, therefore, she'll inherit the company instead!"

"NANI! You old man! That's so unfair! For just a little mistake!?"

"HOW DARE YOU CALL YOUR FATHER AN OLD MAN!" His mother screamed, "THIS IS INSULTING YOUR FAMILY'S POLITE NAME!"

"You're going to have to do a lot to earn our trust again, Onii-san!" Nezuko said, "I still can't believe you cheated on Kanao-chan!"

"But-" Tanjiro tried to protest but his father cut him off.

"No. No 'but's. It's final. The company's Nezuko's, starting from right now. You have to earn your own company." Tanjuro said.

Before the call ended, Nezuko added, "Grow up, Onii-san."

Kanao got off the train and walked to her now ex-in-laws's house. She thought it'd be polite to pay them another visit, before she left.

She'd already booked a hotel in Osaka and was leaving soon.

Okay, she wasn't just going to Tanjiro's house to pay her ex-in-laws a visit. It was also to hide something.

After that forced marriage went so terribly wrong, she vowed she'd never marry anyone again. She created a contract, in which she signed, that vowed she'd never marry again.

Kanao didn't want to hide it in the beach house or take it with her. So she thought she'd hide it in the Sakura Tree.

"Kon'nichiwa- oh... Kanao-chan." Kie said.

Nezuko immediately ran out, grabbing Kanao into a strangle-hug. Tanjuro, Tanjiro's father, followed his daughter out.

"Ah, gomenasai! I can't believe the results!" Nezuko sobbed.

"Daijobu, Nezuko-chan. I can be single from now on."

"Why don't we go inside- to talk a bit." Kie whispered.

"Hai." Tanjiro agreed.

"Oh, ano.. can we go to the Sakura Tree in the backyard?" Kanao asked sheepishly.

"Oh, hai.."

The four of them went outside in silence. They sat down around the tree.

"Tanjuro-kun, go get the tablecloths. I'll prepare tea. Nezuko, please go grab some pastries." Kie explained.

"Hai, oka-san." Nezuko obeyed.

"Hai." Tanjuro said.

All three of them left, which was perfect for Kanao. She slipped to the back of the tree and got out a small drill. Slowly, she drilled a small, narrow hole in the bark and slipped a rolled- up contract into the tree.

"Kanao-chan." Kanao quickly shoved the drill away into her backpack.

The family sat down around their now ex-daughter-in-law and had their chat.

"Where are you going next?" Nezuko asked quietly.

"Osaka."

"Oh... so I guess we won't be meeting again anytime soon. Does your family know about how my Onii-san.. you know?"

"No."

"Why don't you tell them?" Kie asked.

Kanao flinched at the question. She couldn't tell them that she didn't want to tell her adoptive family because they would just sympathize with her for a few days, then arrange another marriage for her with some rich old man's son.

Well technically, she could tell them, since she trusted them enough. But that would give away what she couldn't tell them: the contract hidden in the Sakura Tree.

"Well, I'm afraid they'd just arrange another marriage for me.." She said, which was true.

"Oh.." Tanjuro said softly.

After some more friendly talk, it was time for Kanao to go.

"Come visit someday." Nezuko sobbed.

"Hai.." Kie said, "Please do."

Kanao felt sympathetic. They seemed to miss her already. She was glad some people in the world actually cared about her, but she couldn't let that hold her back.

"Hai, I'll try." She said with a smile, even though she knew it wasn't going to happen. She wouldn't ever go back to Tokyo. Never return to the beach house, ninety minutes away from the company she used to work at. Never see the friends who helped her discover this secret.

The thought kind of shook her, but she brushed it off.

"Sayonara."

Kanao bought train tickets at the station. She got ready to board the next train, which would take two hours and thirty minutes to get to Osaka.

"KON'NICHIWA. THE TRAIN FOR THE OSAKA LINE (ES) WILL BE ARRIVING SOON. PLEASE WATCH YOUR STEP AS YOU BOARD THE TRAIN. ARIGATOGOZAIMASU." The speaker yelled.

The train pulled up. As the train doors opened, Kanao gripped her suitcase's handle, finished up the drink she bought from the vending machine, tightened her backpack, and got ready to board.

She left for the train to Osaka, never turning back again.

Author's Note

Hello my fellow readers! Thank you so much for reading this. I know it is a little late.

As you can see, I made a few tweaks to my writing. Why, you ask?

Well, it's because of the place I went to this past week! If you guessed Japan, you were right.

According to what I saw, most people rode trains. Very few could drive.

Anyway PLZ VOTEEEE!

BAIIIII!

OXOX,

Emerald-chan!
