A long time ago, fate was a vicious monster. But now, they have earned their way. This they knew from the first day: they belonged together.

Now that Kanao finally agreed to date him, Tanjiro was the happiest ever. He bought her anything she desired, though she often didn't ask for much.
"Do you want me to buy you The Heart of the Ocean?" Tanjiro asked.
"Oh, certainly not! That would cost you all your fortune!" Kanao shook her head, "And what would I even do with an expensive bauble like that? It's practically worthless in my case!"
Tanjiro laughed at Kanao's purity, "You really are a very pristine woman! It would be quite a shame if you were feigning it!" He joked.
"Certainly not!" The woman instantly shook her head, "Why would I ever do such a thing!?"
"I was merely joking!" Tanjiro laughed as his girlfriend relaxed, "You do realize that I perceive that you aren't the spoiled kind, right?"
He then straightened up his body up, "May I ask? Is there anything you do wish for?"
To his surprise, Kanao nodded.
"Etto.. hai." She spoke timidly, "I want to hear the full story about what actually happened after our d*vorce..."
Tanjiro flinched. "Perhaps you should ask for something more... womanly?"
Kanao shook her head, "I do not enjoy luxuries. Rather, I crave for more information about what happened. Kudasai?"
The male blushed, looking away. When his eyes strayed back to his lover, he decided that the woman deserved a proper explanation. After all, he couldn't hide it from her forever.
"Ah... daijobu..." Tanjiro began from the opening, "After we d*vorced, my parents hailed me. They were awfully enraged by the fact that I cheated on you. I guess you'd grown quite close to them" He caught Kanao's remorseful look.
"A-And... well... my attitude was genuinely irritable as well..." He continued, "A-Anyway, they took away my company after claiming I was unworthy of owning it. It now belongs to Nezuko, because she helped you learn my secret. I'd hate to admit this, but they were the right ones in this story. Unfortunately, I didn't think this way four years ago..."
Tanjiro took a moment to take in his breath. Then he began again, "Though I was incredibly bitter about the way they stripped me of my company, I felt that I could date Daki freely. We were married a year later.."
If it wasn't Kanao who desired the information, Tanjiro would never have spoken a word. He hated all mentions about his past. Or rather, the right word was that he felt the need to be ashamed of those passing years. How he deceived his family and betrayed Kanao's trust, that was all.. unforgettable.
"I know it's a lot to take in! It's perfectly fine if you.. need some time!" Tanjiro quickly commented.
"No, it's fine." Kanao said, "I just wanted to hear the story. Arigato, Tanjiro-san..."
"Hm?"
"F-For being so honest with me."
"Ah, daijobu... it's only something I should do."
"Well... I think we should meet up at a restaurant tonight, don't you think?" Tanjiro blushed.
"Sure, why not?" Kanao agreed.
"I'll see you at about 6 pm." Tanjiro said goodbye to Kanao after sending her the location.
Later, when they both arrived at the restaurant, they both sat down at a table and waited for the waitress to approach them.
