ENTRY #11

Invisible Lines – Jeon Wonwoo (Requested)

Summary: Their schoolmates noticed it, even their mothers did. Yet, Dahyun doesn't acknowledge Wonwoo's lingering stares and princess-like treatments as something a little more than just friends.

Or Wonwoo takes ages to confess.

Diaper babies.

Platonic soulmates.

Ultra mega best friends, as per what Dahyun once called them six years ago.

Dahyun and Wonwoo have known each other for their entire lives now.

They're attached to the hip. They're practically inseparable mainly because their parents made them to be, or they took a childhood promise way too seriously that they've resided in the same village.

Dahyun's and Wonwoo's mothers are best friends and always will be.

They vowed to have their children be friends like them and it worked — 17 years for Dahyun, and for Wonwoo, 18.

Dahyun rushed downstairs with her backpack hanging loosely on her shoulder, which was unlike the calm and collected aura she was always perceived to have.

She was late, perhaps to her own standards, because she's always had a routine she meticulously followed whenever she was heading off for school. Yet, she overslept, hence her disheveled state.

"Mom!" She yelled as she pulled out a chair and sat down by the dining table. Breakfast was already set. Her mother was probably washing the dishes already since her food was the only one left. "Please tell Wonwoo not to wait for me!" She followed up and immediately dug in her meal.

"Me?"

Dahyun turned her head, cheeks puffed and mouth full.

Wonwoo was standing in the kitchen with the sleeves of his shirt rolled up and with an apron over his uniform. He was helping her mom with wiping the bowls dry.

"Wonwoo," she muttered to herself after swallowing. "Have you waited long?" She hurriedly took another bite. The sooner she finished, the sooner she was out the door.

"No," but that was what Wonwoo always told her. "Take your time. We aren't late." He shot her a nod and a small smile before turning his back to place a bowl in the drawers.

The two soon left after a couple of minutes. They usually walked their way to school if the weather was fine with Dahyun on the safer side of the sidewalk.

"Wonwoo," Dahyun glanced at him, hands on the straps of her backpack.

"Yes?" Wonwoo pushed his glasses up along the bridge of his nose.

"We're graduating soon. What are you taking?"

Many of her friends have asked her this already. Given that half the semester has passed and college scholastic exams are nearing, cram schools have been all the rave. Her classmates have been so keen on entering the National University with degrees such as engineering and medicine.

Dahyun couldn't help but envy them because all she could say whenever someone asked was "I don't know, I'm still thinking about it."

She had no idea what she wanted to do after graduating.
