Girlfriend - Yoo Jeongyeon

It was already lunch break. Dahyun was walking down the corridors when several of her schoolmates greeted her. She didn't exactly know them, but she guessed that they knew her because of the pageant that recently concluded. So, she flashed a smile and waved at them before heading on to the cafeteria.

Dahyun wasn't really that popular, but it seemed that her popularity had skyrocketed ever since she represented her blockmates in the university's annual pageant. She was honestly forced because of peer pressure. Ever since Sana came enthusiastically yelling her name when the course representative was asking for new candidates, everyone unanimously agreed that she would be a good fit. And everything else after that was history with her friends arranging everything for her from her hairstyle, makeup, and outfits to her little training sessions for her catwalk, talent portion, and Q & A.

She couldn't help but chuckle to herself when she remembered just how aggressive and competitive her friends were. But she was later broken off from her reverie when she heard giggles coming from the people that came to say 'hi' to her. And just like always, she beamed at them with the same energy. But she later noticed how their eyes were no longer on her, but beside her.

Stopping in her tracks, she turned around to see Jeongyeon mimicking her cat-like smile and shooting finger hearts while her head was tilted off to 45 degrees.

Dahyun only shook her head and quietly laughed at the sight of her. She was already used to this. Even when they were just friends back in high school, Jeongyeon would tease her relentlessly over nothing until she was better known as Dahyun's number one 'bully' and 'face copying machine'. So, she wouldn't really be shocked if ever Jeongyeon suddenly copies her expressions out of nowhere because teasing was somewhat a love language for her.

But it wasn't just through expressions.

Jeongyeon would always call her a chubby baby because of her squishy cheeks that she would pinch and smush together out-of-the-blue.

After another episode of Jeongyeon poking fun at Dahyun's expressions, the two walked together to the cafeteria and waited in line with Jeongyeon standing behind her. The queue was rather long, considering that everyone's lunch hour started at the same time. And Jeongyeon was getting tired of looking around and tapping her foot on the floor.

"Dah." Jeongyeon called out to her while gently tapping her shoulder, to which Dahyun noticed by looking over her shoulder.

"Yes?" Dahyun slightly puffed her cheeks.

And that was the moment Jeongyeon spun her around with her hands on her shoulders. Her hands crept up to her cheeks, cupping her cheeks in a loving way before she pressed her cheeks together. Dahyun's eyes were now narrowed down, and her lips were puckered up like a fish with the way the older girl held her face. The next thing she knew, Jeongyeon was already busy pinching her fluffy cheeks with a huge grin on her lips before she let go and put her attention on her cellphone as if none of that happened.

Strangers would say that they were weird, but Dahyun wouldn't pay any mind to it regardless. She loved Jeongyeon just the way she was.

Once they already had their food, they settled in one of the tables that was meant for four people after seeing that the rest of the tables for duos were already taken. They only had 40 minutes left, so they immediately dug in to satiate their hunger.

The two ate in silence, not saying another word to each other nor even sparing each other a glance as they shoveled food in their mouths. Jeongyeon was eating a sea whelk salad with noodles, while Dahyun was eating ramen just because she wanted to have something hot fill her stomach.
