Romance.

Dahyun tapped her pen against her desk. She was assigned to work on their school paper's advice column entitled "Dear Jia". And for this time around, she received a relationship dilemma.

It read:

"Dear Jia,

I liked a classmate for some time now. He's handsome, charming, and smart. Every quality a woman wants in a guy, he has it all. All the girls here like him. It isn't a surprise, honestly. But I want to confess, I just don't know how.

My friends have been pushing me to just talk to him, but my situation here is a little difficult. He's my best friend. I've known him since we were diaper babies. So, I'm afraid of what's going to happen next if ever I confess. I don't want to lose him as a friend, but I also want to try if his response is good.

I'm fickle, I know. I'm sorry. ㅠㅠ

But I'd like to know your thoughts regarding this. I need all the help I can get.

Thank you!

- 나비"

Dahyun doesn't recall how many times she's read through the message. It was the first time she was stuck on submissions, too. She would go by them like a breeze on her own, and her first drafts would easily be accepted by the board. But Dahyun was clueless. She's been staring at the open submission form for god knows how long.

She groaned, stretching her back.

She never found herself in this position.

Love – she never experienced it. She's been the coach all this time with her friends entering and exiting relationships as early as seventh grade. Maybe she wasn't meant to have one anyways.

But she's had her own fair share of crushes.

She liked Jimin, Jihyo's cousin, because of his cute little eye smile whenever he looked her way.

She liked Taehyung, well, every girl in the campus did. He became popular overnight thanks to his looks. He was automatically their batch's representative during annual interschool pageants, too.

Then, there was Jungkook. He was a faculty favorite because of his unending list of talents. Maybe he could build a house from scratch if they ever asked.

Yet, all these little crushes remained as such. And before she knew it, her 'feelings' were gone. She was simply attracted to their physical appearances. She never bothered to get to know them at all.

She knew that that's where feelings start though. Her friends often fell victim to the thing they call "love at first sight."

Dahyun found the concept ridiculous. Conventionally attractive people were the only ones who benefitted from this because one look would be enough to get a person moving on their feet and initiate the first move.

And maybe this was why she's never had any.

She often sported a small frown when she wasn't talking to anyone. She usually pursed her lips to a thin line whenever she was in deep thought. Her sharp eyes didn't help, too. She always looked like she was mad in contrast with her friends who looked like walking sunshine every time they were together.
