Blind – Im Nayeon (Requested)

Summary: Im Nayeon's heart is crushed on Valentine's Day when she sees her crush give gifts to her own best friend.

It was finally Valentine's Day, that one day that's either looked forward to or deeply dreaded by all with the excessive displays of love displayed in every crook and cranny one looks at.

Schools, of course, were no exception. And it just so happened that Valentine's Day was a school day, a Monday to be exact, which made things much worse for those who were single and bitter over that one day.

A certain bunny-like student, however, would like to beg to differ. Because although she was single, there was a certain junior of hers that made her heart race. And today, she'll be giving her gifts in person after years of leaving notes and tokens in her locker and on her desk.

"Nabong, why are you so jumpy today?" Jihyo, the student council president asked her as they walked on the hall. They were giving out the paper roses they've crafted a week ago to teachers they met on the corridors.

Nayeon, on the other hand, was doing the same because she was the vice president, except she had this huge toothy grin plastered on her face. Jihyo was honestly afraid that her lips would rip from how much she was smiling from ear-to-ear.

"Nothing, I'm just happy today." Nayeon giggled at her before she handed out a paper rose to a professor.

"Is it because of Dahyun?" Jihyo's question somehow made Nayeon buffer, and Jihyo couldn't help but snort at her reaction. After all, Jihyo knew how much Nayeon has been exerting all these efforts on the pale girl and she just knew that she had something up her sleeve again.

"No! Who told you that?" Nayeon answered defensively, and it only made Jihyo cackle even more.

"Please, you always have something prepared for her even without an occasion. So, Valentine's won't be an exception." Jihyo didn't bother hearing Nayeon's whines and complaints because she walked on ahead of her, assumedly heading to the faculty room to give the rest of the flowers.

But Jihyo wasn't wrong.

Since Nayeon laid her eyes on her during her third year of middle school while Dahyun was in her second year, she's been trying to make her look her way with subtle tiny efforts as they became friends and grew closer over time. She was even lucky to be attending the same high school as her, which meant that she'll see her for three more years, too. But Nayeon honestly did everything she could to convince her to consider enrolling in her school when she finally received her acceptance letters. She even bribed her with a year-supply of chocolates, and she did not regret a single thing at all.

Although they were already close with Nayeon meeting Dahyun through Jeongyeon, her childhood best friend, Nayeon never had the courage to give her gifts personally. She always had letters pushed into her locker and presents either put down on her desk or given to her by another friend. But Nayeon was already on her last year of high school. And she only has a month remaining before her graduation, which meant lesser chances of seeing Dahyun now that they were close to reaching their finals week and graduation practices. And to top things off, there was no assurance that they'll be in the same university with Nayeon choosing to pursue mechanical engineering and Dahyun aiming towards literature and journalism.

So, Nayeon made it a mission to finally confront Dahyun and confess her feelings to her.

It wouldn't go wrong, right? It is Valentine's Day, the perfect day to ask someone out... or get rejected.
