Chapter 30
My fluttered open to see a sickeningly white ceiling. I slowly turned my head to my sides and realized that I was in the school clinic.
"You're up, Anna Summers."
The nurse bustled over to my side, holding her clipboard. I propped up by my elbow to greet her, however, a wave of nausea started to hit me. I grimaced in pain and settled back down, rolling on my back in pain.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
Of course I wasn't okay, I wanted to scream. "I'm having this killer headache."
The nurse kept silent while my migraine does down. I breathed out a sigh of relief and turned to face her. "How did I end up here?"
The nurse stuck her thumb out, pointing to the back of the clinic. "He brought you here."
I sat up and tried to look around her to see the kind soul. Dakota was slumped in his seat, obviously in deep sleep. His only support was probably his arm on the armrest.
I gave my attention to the nurse again. "What happened?"
The nurse gave me an odd look. "I should be the one asking that question... Anyway," she gestured towards Dakota, "that boy said that he found you on the floor of the girls' locker room unconscious."
Suddenly, it all came back. Naya. Yen. Dakota. The sabotage. The jeopardy.
I clenched my fists into tight balls. I'm gonna get back at Naya. Soon.
"Anyway, I need to run some checks on you to see if you are fit to leave the clinic," the nurse droned in a monotonous tone.
I nodded. "Go ahead."
She asked my a few questions about my family and stuff, to see if I was mentally sound. She filled in a form, then have me the green light that I could leave.
I hopped off the clinic bed and sauntered towards Dakota, who was still in dreamland.
I gently prodded his arm and he stirred. "Good morning, sleepyhead."
"W-wha-?" He stuttered. I smiled and plopped down into the seat beside him.
As he rubbed his eyes, I pondered for a while. I wonder what happened after I fainted.
"Dakota, how did you find me?" I asked, unsure.
He yawned and stretched. "It was getting late and you still had not met me at the car park. So I figured something was wrong, and so I entered the girls' locker room. Again."
I couldn't help but laugh. "My knight in shining armor always saves me from the depth of the girls' locker room, huh?"
