Walls Closing In Again

That morning, the group finalized their defiance, to stand up to Asahina's mother, and finally make a difference. Asahina herself was ecstatic, but couldn't really tell. All she knew was she felt kind of funny.

They wore the colors of the flags that represented themselves, with  their black and the flag colors splashed upon it as well. With the help of Ena's artistic vision and Mizuki's fashion taste, it all came out so very nicely.

Asahina wore blue like her eyes, purple like her hair and pink like the setting sun. Mizuki, cotton candy blue and pink. Ena, shades of blushing pink, raging orange and pearly white. And finally, Kanade, wore hot pink, sunshine yellow, and neon blue.

They marched up to the nearest park, Yoshi Park,  around 12:00 PM, where people would be bustling, this way and that, a place where they could be heard. They carried their equipment gently, and their burdens silently. Asahina wasn't ready for this. It was awfully unsettling. She was getting anxious, but remembered she was in public, and put on her brave face, the mask she often wore at school.

Some curious pedestrians peered over at their area. Some were from her school, but she blissfully ignored them-trying not to puke was more of a priority to her.

They'd set up their equipment, and got it all fixed up. Loudly, Ena spoke up to the curious onlookers: "Attention! May I have your attention!!"

Some people walking about stopped dead in their tracks, confused. Others who didn't have time to spare simply kept walking, without a care in the world.

She continued, "This, is...for us." And with that, she stopped. Nightcord at 25:00's members all drew in their breaths. This was it.

The night is gone,

The pain has past,

Our time to speak,

Is here at last...

Goodbye pain,

I sing my prayers,

To the gods I believe are there,

I pack it all up,

Put it all behind,

There's no trouble killing my mind...

We can see,

We're no longer blind..."

There was silence. It was unsettling. Someone in the crowd coughed  for a moment.

"♩♪♩♬ ♬♩♪♩

But here we are, it's now our time...

The night is gone,

The pain has past,

Our time to speak,

Is here at last,

We aren't gonna get put on blast!

We're gonna stand,

Hand in hand,

Braver than before,

What are you waiting for?!

♩♪♩♬ ♬♩♪♩

♩♪♩♬ ♬♩♪♩

This is our time to cut the knot,

to move the anchor flow,

We were shushed into silence,

But now you know!"

People were cheering, some were booing them. Others continued to bustle past. The crowd was really forming well. But they didn't care. They kept playing on, doing what they were there for.

At least, until the cops came. Being that they didn't have any actual permission to perform that day, one of the bystanders must have decided to do something about it. Asahina became even more nervous by the minute, and when they all had to pack it up, all was silent. Yet, some still remained, the haters from before recording and guffawing despite the police's orders to stay back to properly shut the incident down.

Asahina felt faint, vision blurry, walls closing in on her, again. And this time, she couldn't run away from her problems. After all, this was all her fault.
