The next day, Dazai and Kanae went to Mori's office to report on their mission.
Both of them were silent in the lift. It was an awkward moment for both of them.
"Your welcome...for saving me yesterday. You didn't have to, but you did," Kanae started.
"Thank you," Dazai responded.
Both of them stopped talking again. "Why are you wearing a kimono today?" Dazai asked. Kanae was wearing a kimono with traditional Japanese hair accessories as opposed to her usual hats.

Kanae: Koyo nee-san invited me to participate in a tea ceremony. It's only normal to dress formally for such an event.
Dazai: Isn't it hard to walk in that?
Kanae: I'm wearing normal ankle boots, so it's not that bad. Besides, Koyo nee-san and I will head to the ceremony by car.
Dazai: Why would you want to go there?
Kanae: It's been a long time since I've been to one. Besides, there's matcha, and you know I'm a big fan of tea.
They both walked out of the lift and entered Mori's office.
"The Shining has left Yokohama however, Doctor Sleep has escaped," Dazai reported. "I expected that much," Mori said while looking out of the window.
There was a brief silence before he continued "There will be a formal gathering next week, I expect both of you to attend."
Both of them said yes and exited the office.
"Joy, we've got a gathering to attend," Kanae said sarcastically.
They both entered the lift and the lift brought them to the floor where their office is located.
While Dazai and Kanae were walking to their office, they bumped into Chuya.
"Eww Dazai," Chuya said in disgust and turned away from Dazai.
"Eww Chuya. No, slug is the word to describe you," Dazai said in return and did the same.
Chuya: Watch who you're calling a slug, mackerel!!
Dazai: Oh my I'm scared of shortie Chuya. *Sarcastically said.*
Chuya: Just you wait, I will become taller, and I'll become taller than you!!
Dazai: Oh yeah? We'll see about that. If you're still shorter than me a year later, you'll be my dog!
Chuya: BRING IT ON!!! YOU SUICIDAL MANIAC!!! I'LL MAKE YOU REGRET CALLING ME DOG!!!
Kanae sighed and left the two boys alone in their own fight.
When she arrived at her office, Koyo was already there waiting for her.
"You're late, (遅いぞ。)" Koyo said to Kanae.
"Only by just a few minutes," Kanae replied.
"Let's go, (さあ、行くわよ。) you wouldn't want to miss out on the matcha," Koyo said and led the way to the car. Kanae followed Koyo without saying anything else.
