"Live...Kanae......I have lived a good life......I have you by my side......and I will die protecting you......So live......don't look back........."
Kanae jolted herself awake. Those were her mother's last words before she died in front of Kanae.
"What a nightmare..." Kanae said to herself. She looked at the clock, it was 08:00. She got up and got dressed for work. She wore a black dress and trench coat with a black Fedora hat.

She exited the house and as usual, a black SUV was waiting for her outside. "Good morning, Arisu dono," one of Kanae's subordinates said, bowing to her.
To a normal person, it's strange that an adult man is bowing towards a teenage girl. However, Arisu Kanae is not an ordinary teenager, she's known as 'Mad Hatter' among underground organisations.
Her extensive knowledge on poisons and toxins allow her to assassinate people silently. Her ability to cause hallucinations has effectively made people scared and eventually go mad.
Her madness doesn't happen quickly, it's like a poison, slowly making you mad and has long lasting effects. To her, it is easier to break the person from the inside than from the outside.
Kanae got in the car and the driver drove off.
The car stopped once it reached the Port Mafia building. Kanae got out of the car and took the lift to Mori's office. She had been called to see the boss when she's in the car. She spent her time in the lift wondering why the boss wanted to see her.
Once the life door opened, there were 2 guards with machine guns pointing at her, but immediately stood down after seeing Kanae. She stepped out of the lift and walked to Mori's office. There were another 2 guards in front of the boss's office. They opened the door after looking at her. "I'm Arisu. I'm going in, (有栖です。入るぞ。)" Kanae said and went into the boss's office.
Inside, there were two people bickering at each other.
"Wow chibi (ちび), you're still so short, might as well call you pipsqueak at this point."
"Watch your mouth you suicidal maniac!! I'm still growing, and I'll be taller than you one day!!!"
"As if that'll happen. You should drink more milk instead of wine!"
"Ok ok (はいはい), calm down both of you, we have someone with us today," Mori said to the brunette and ginger headed boys. They immediately stopped bickering and turned towards Mori.
"Meet Arisu Kanae. You have seen her a few times, but have never worked with her before," Mori said, gesturing at Kanae.
"Wow, a pretty lady! My name is Dazai Osamu, but beware the pipsqueak right here, he is thinking about something dirty," Dazai said.
"You're the one that's thinking about something dirty!" Chuya immediately shouted at Dazai. "I'm Nakahara Chuya," Chuya said and did a slight bow to Kanae.
"Never knew that a pipsqueak can be so gentleman-like," Dazai teased.
"As if you can do any better!" Chuya retorted.
"Quiet, Both of you, (二人とも黙りなさい。)" Mori said to them and they immediately stopped bickering.
"There is an organisation that has been selling out the mafia's information. I need you 3 to infiltrate their base. I want the leader of the organisation, Nonaka (野中), dead and retrieve the database, that's where they have the information on the mafia, is that clear?".
