Sara Jay Palmer

It was the moment I woke up from my deep slumber that I felt something fishy is going to happen. But the naivety in me denies the hunch and replaces them with happy tunes from the radio's blasting music.

Breakfast seems normal. I mentally noticed. I chug in half liter of pineapple juice and grab my favorite cereal. As I finish, I ran upstairs and took shower, changing later on to my regular clothes.

School, the worst thing to happen in your life.

It is actually. But I decided to be smart and ignore all the people since freshmen year and now I'll have another two years to continue what I am doing.

I am surprised that I finish a little bit early than usual so I decided to walk to school which is just fifteen minutes away. In the middle of the road, I finally succumb to the fact that my hunch may be right since it started raining and the smart child in me must have doze to oblivion since I have no umbrella.

And so I ran.

I ran like Channing Tatum is waiting for me at the end. I ran like dementors and crazy make ups are chasing me. And with just around ten minutes, I arrived at school... looking wet and gross. Good thing, the smart child in me brought some extra clothes on the first day of school which gives me a massive advantage at moments like this.

After changing my clothes, I remembered that Mr. Catnip will have a meeting for the writers of the school paper for the next issue. Just as I am about to open the door on Mr. Catnip's classroom, a sudden urge to pee a liter surfaced.

Curse that pineapple juice.

I walked swiftly looking like I am keeping an egg between my legs. I know I might have looked funny but I thank the school system since no one seemed to notice me.

I zipped my pants comfortable thinking how beautiful the world is when I suddenly remembered to look at my watch. God I am thirty minutes late! I am supposed to be on a meeting right now with Mr. Catnip and the other writers. And so I ran. Again.

The worst case scenario that could ever happen is Mr. Catnip banning me from being a writer now that I grew to love it.

I swung the door open only finding smug stares, which to tell you honestly comforted me, meaning no one knew I was even gone and late. Ha ha. I sat on the nearest chair and calmed myself from all the running when Mr. Catnip called me.

"And the final topic for the next issue will be handed to you, Sara." He scratched his bald head and leaned closer to my direction. "It's the most requested topic since we opened the suggestion box. And by that, swing on my office after your last class." As if on cue, everyone started leaving. I just got here people. Well, he didn't ban me, did he?

For real, I wasn't looking forward for that topic Mr. Catnip wanted me to write. I wasn't looking forward to anything at all. All I wanted to is live in peace. But when Mr. Catnip saw my essay paper during freshmen, he insisted that I join the school paper. I arranged my glasses as I went inside Mr. Catnip's classroom.

"Mr. Catnip, you have a topic to assign." I reminded him as he looked at me with question earlier.

"Oh right right. Here you go Sara." He handed me a paper. "This is the most suggested topic."

I looked at the paper and I felt my eyes grew bigger than the moon.

Topic: Inside scoop on Chase Humphry and Mason Green's life.

Is this even legal to be considered as a topic, on a school paper? For crying out loud! This is a topic for a teen's magazine.

"But-t t-this-" He cut me off midsentence. "Write two separate entries. One for each subject. I'll give you one and a half month to be an insider. Don't worry you won't be stalking. I already told them about this. So scram." He waved his pinky like it's a magic wand.

"Bu-t I-I-" I held my hand in the air as if begging for mercy.

"I said scram!" He repeated and this time louder. I folded the paper in half and tuck in my binder.

What's the worst thing that could happen? Like being bullied? Well that's fine. Worst case scenario is that they behead me. Or set me on fire.
