I woke up with a sleeping Chase beside me. For a moment, I felt peace lying there with him. But then I remembered why I was there so my body panic causing a confused Chase to wake up and to be on defense mode, tugging me behind him and caging me with his arms.
"You're safe now Sara. I promise everything's okay now." He was whispering like I'm a fragile thing. And the next thing I did surprised me.
I kissed Chase. I freakin' kissed Chase. And the weird thing is he kissed me back, intimately.
My stamina is running low so I broke off the kiss and my breathing became ragged.
"I'm so sorry Sara for dragging you into all of these. Please don't hate me. I swear Sara nothing's going to happen now." I can't hide a smile knowing that Chase is defending like a child caught stealing cookies.
"Does that kiss felt hate to you?" and for the first time, I clearly saw Chase blush hard.

Monday was the hardest part. I have to face Mason. I have to observe him. It's not really hard, but aside from the fact that Chase drove me to school using his hidden luxury car is more than bad. I gathered deathly and curious stares as I made my way to my locker, Chase following behind me.
"You can go now Chase. Everyone's looking." I almost whispered.
"You're mine Sara. I'd let you off this time since I know the school paper is important to you. But you're mine. One wrong move with Mason and you'd be in trouble."
Electricity rummaged my system as I try to find air. Mine. He called me 'mine'. My heart thudded for more. I want him to say it over and over to me until I beg for him. And by that, I realized I've gone crazy. What's the worst case scenario? That's right, Chase beheading Mason. And we all know he's capable of that.

I was hoping the rumors earlier before first period were lies. But seeing Chase walk Sara to her locker made my heart clench. I tried to plaster my happy face and walked towards Sara.
"Hey! How's your Sunday?" I tried to hide the pain in my voice.
"Pretty much okay. And you?" she smiled at me. I sighed in relief.
"Well, when you're the most handsome person, why wouldn't it be awesome?" she punched my arm and laughed.
"Got a load of cockiness?" she opened her locker and shoved her things in.

I thanked the heaven when Chase wasn't around during lunch so I have Sara all to myself.
"So what do you prefer? Styling gel or hairspray?" her nose is on her notes again.
"Hmm, my hair doesn't need anything like that." She looked at me with a grin on her face.
"Right, enough with the cockiness." She smiled and closed her book. I stared deep into her eyes and I was glad she did the same.
"Wanna hang out at my house later?" and Sara whispered "Sure."
