Chapter 6

We arrived in Greece during the dark so when we arrived at the house we're staying in I didn't even look around but immediately went to sleep.

The next morning when I woke up there was breakfast ready already so I ate some and got ready to go for my morning run. There was no sigh of Grayson around so I didn't even try to look for him.

I went on my run and it was so warm outside and running by the coastline was a complete dream. I wasn't big on swimming but the vibe here even was pulling me into the water and I wanted nothing more than to put on a swimsuit and go into the water.

But when I returned home an irritated Grayson was waiting for me. And another man stood in the room.

"Where were you?" Graysons asking.

"I went for a run" I walk to grab a bottle from the table and sip some water.

"Didn't think to tell me?" He's asking.

"Is that your friend?" I ask back looking at the man.

"That's Cole" he says. "I asked you a question"

"And I decided not to answer it" I put down the water bottle.

"Do you need me to remind you why we're here?" Does he really have to do this in front of his friend?

"To get your big daddy's fortune, yes I'm well aware of that, but the moment you left the house in the morning you didn't think to notify me did you?" I cross my arms over my chest "Now tell me why the hell should I tell you when and where I'm going?"

"Because it's different" can I punch him? And here I was thinking we were making some progress yesterday.

"How is it different? Because you have a penis and I don't?" Cole tries to hide his laughs but he couldn't but when Grayson glared at him he stopped laughing.

Grayson let's out a sigh and pinches the bridge of his nose "I went to collect Cole" he says.

"Great, and I went for a run" I say looking between Grayson and Cole.

"It's dangerous Kate" I can see how angry he is. But honestly it's all his fault.

"Oh my, I didn't even think, a seagull could've attacked me and what would I have done?" I say sarcastically and Cole starts laughing out loud.

"Cole, leave" Grayson says and Cole takes his phone and wallet from the table and walks out of the room.

I lean on the counter with my elbow and watch as Grayson takes a few steps closer to me.

"You're not a Matisse anymore okay? Walking around alone is dangerous, there's people out for my head every day, and the moment you gained the last name Chernoff so are for yours, so next time you leave you better tell me where the hell you're going" he says.

"Why didn't you warn me sooner, I could've kept my own last name" I say and that takes him over the edge.

He's only inches away from me, I can smell his cologne and my breath hitches. Now I'm actually a little scared.

"You want to go out and get yourself killed? Great, go nuts, but if you do get yourself in danger and you realise that you want to live indeed, I won't be there to save your ass, because I would have no clue where you are" his voice is low and poisonous I actually feel like I've pushed him too far this time.

"You didn't have to stand there and discipline me like a misbehaving child in front of your friend" I point a finger in his chest "If you would have nicely asked for me to keep you updated where I'm going I'd gladly do it, but you had no right to talk to me like that"
