The Unwritten Rule

CHAPTER 1

In the ancient period, the kings were supposed to marry a person only for the sake of land and gold or for expanding the kingdom. The rule for all kings is to marry a Nobel person for a happy domain, irrespective of gender.

Ages have passed, kings have changed, and so have the rules. Now that most kingdoms have removed this rule from their rule books, some still follow it; one of them is the kingdom named 'Nemon', the wealthiest and mightiest.

Unlike other kingdoms, people here have equal rights. The common people received equal treatment, not being considered either the lowest or the highest. The kingdom's people are the happiest and most free, while its nobles are not as fortunate.

As the saying goes, 'Money cannot buy everything', and the Nobels of the kingdom 'Nemon' were actual examples. Despite having all the wealth, chefs, doctors, and servants, they are still the poorest.

The king of the kingdom, 'Jeon Sung-hi', was the strongest king the kingdom had ever witnessed. The king never lost a battle he went to. He was tall-6 feet with well-built muscles, sharp eyes, and thin lips. The surrounding aura always screamed superiority. The king always took care of his kingdom's people and avoided their suffering.

They praised the king all around the world for how well he took care of his people. But there is always a face that was never shown to his people, the other side of the king. The king never treated his wife 'Jeon Seyon' as his wife. He never missed a chance to tell her he only married her because of the 'rule' and for an heir.

The Queen was really pretty with a round face, a dimple, round eyes, and a smile that always shone like the sun. Her lovely hair made her face look even better.

The queen was always quiet, and never disobeyed her king no matter what the king said; she was just happy to see the king every day. Soon the queen of the kingdom got pregnant and the entire kingdom celebrated her pregnancy. The queen wanted love from her husband now that she was pregnant, but he didn't show her any. She was sad about it.

The king never let the queen suffer from her pregnancy. He made sure there was a doctor present with her 24/7 and made sure there were all kinds of food available for her, but he was not present, which the queen wished for.

The queen had a baby girl after 9 months who had eyes like her and lips like her father. She was so beautiful. The folks in the land wished for a male child, but they were still joyful for the queen and praised her. After showing the child to the people of their kingdom, the king and queen amazed everyone. The child's beauty amazed the people.

The entire kingdom gave them good wishes and gifts within their means. The nice king and queen were happy to accept their gifts and thanked everyone kindly. King was glad when a pretty baby girl was born, but he wanted more than just that. He wanted someone to take over and be in charge of the kingdom when he wasn't there.

When the princess was only two years old, the queen became pregnant again, with a boy. The kingdom welcomed the couple and celebrated the birth of their child. But there was no end to the king's greediness. He was anxious that only one boy, as an heir, could not ensure the kingdom's security.

Soon it turned out that the queen was pregnant again, but this time her health began to deteriorate. A third child, a boy, was born when the prince was 12 months old. When her child was born, the Queen's health was out of control and none of the drugs affected her body. She died less than a year, leaving her three beautiful and tender children in a cruel place. After her queen's death, the king assigned soldiers, cooks, servants, doctors, and teachers to look after his children.

The children grew up without their father's and mother's love. The first child 'Jeon Ara' (age 17). Ara means elegant the princess. Ara has a face like her mother, round and beautiful eyes, and thin lips like her father. She is the most beautiful person, tall with a slim waist and long, slim fingers which are decorated with beautiful rings. The second born is 'Jeon Yu-Jun' (age 15). Yu jun means king, ruler, or talented, handsome. The first Prince Yu Jun has a face that resembles his father's sharp eyes and thin lips. He has a pleasant aura around him, just like the queen. It always decorated his face with a beautiful smile. He was tall with baby muscles as he was still in his teenage. The third child, 'Jeon Ji Ho' (age 14) means brave, fierce, knowledge. The second prince, Ji Ho, has the face of both his mother and father, sharp eyes, a sculptured nose, and rosy lips. He was the tallest among the three. Even in his teen age the prince already looked like a warrior. The three siblings never missed a class that was assigned to them every single day.

The princess trained in archery and swordsmanship with her younger, unloved brothers after their mother died. From an early age, the princess looked after her younger brothers, even though she was still a child. She poured out all her affection and took care of her brothers.

As the three grew up, the practice became tough. The king restricted the princess to go for archery and sword classes. "No one would marry you if there were any scars on your body or face," was the answer she received from her father. For both the prince the king was more like a king/master rather than a father.

The practices were becoming tough as the years passed, especially for the first prince, Yu Jun, as there were a lot of expectations for him. Everyone wanted him to be more strong and build more muscles. The princess and the second prince were always there for him. The prince never wanted to rule the kingdom, he never wanted to be the king. He always dreamed of the place, the place outside those high walls. He wanted to be a free bird who could fly around and rest at a place called home. The prince never felt the palace was his home. Whenever he thought about his duties as a future king, he felt suffocated. He felt as if chains were binding his hands, legs, and neck, preventing him from breathing and moving. If he continued in this way one day, he would finally stop breathing. This thought scared the prince.

One sunny day, the entire palace was chaos, the soldiers, servants, everyone was running around, and the king was boiling with range. The princess and the second prince were looking worried after seeing the king's expression. "Do you think he is safe?" the second prince whispered to the princess. "He will be," the princess said, hoping her words were true.

A soldier came running towards the king's chamber where the king and the kids were there. He knelt before the king and said, "We searched everywhere. The first prince is nowhere to be found," the soldier said, which made the sister and brother take a breath of relief. They both looked at each other and nodded their head with a small smile on their faces.

Last night, the princess and the second prince helped the first prince escape. It was a foolish decision, considering that the first prince was the next king, but the siblings couldn't bear to see their brother suffer. It took a lot of courage to send the prince away. The princess and prince took as much gold, clothes, and food as they could for their dear brother. The three siblings were breaking from the inside, but they had to do this for each other sake.

The crashing sound brought them back to reality. The king threw all the papers and threw the table, shouting. He marched towards his chamber and closed the door with a bang.

The princess looked at her bother "Will you be okay?" The prince looked confused. "You know, right, if Yu Jin is not here, that means you will be the king. Will you be able to handle the burden? ". The princess asked while stroking her brother's cheeks lovingly. The prince smiled, took his sister's hand into his, and reassured her, "Don't worry, Noona. I will take care of everything. Once I become the King Yu Jin hyung will be back and we three can rule the kingdom together." Princess laughed and said, "Idiot, there will always be one king for every kingdom." The prince thought for a sec and said "Then I will make Yu Jin hyung as the minister and you in charge of medic." The princes said with a content smile.

On the other side, the king was boiling with rage. The anger clouded his judgment and logical thinking ability. In a rage, he made a decision that would affect the nobles for the rest of their life.

The first few chapters will focus on the background, which will help to understand the story better.
