While staying at his uncle's house, he understood why his uncle's family wanted to take him. Someone gave money to his uncle to take him away from the palace.
As Seokjin expected, his uncle's family was not very welcoming. Seokjin had to do household work, earn money, and had to study. Seokjin wanted to escape from his uncle's house as soon as possible.
It took many years for Seokjin to work hard and save some money so that he could escape from this hell and finally, when Seokjin turned 21, he left his uncle's house and started living on his own. Living on his own was hard, but his promise to Jungkook and his desire to make his Appa proud encouraged Seokjin not to give up.
While Seokjin was doing his best to become an outstanding soldier, Jungkook was also doing his best. He studied politics, took sword and archery classes, and he even accompanied his father to the court to learn new things. Seokjin and Jungkook, both, were waiting for the day they could be together again.
