I woke up disappointed
Because I wasn't in a van with people who accepted me
Traveling down the highway
With excitement in the air
From our city to another
Intent on changing the world
One performance at a time

I woke up disappointed
Because I wasn't at rehearsal
Every Thursday at 6
Downtown on 7th
In the old space that used to be a cafe
Before the city decided to change it all without telling us
Into a youth clinic we weren't allowed to be at

I woke up disappointed
Because it's been 4 years since I last saw those people
The ones who I'd give my life for
And yet
It only feels like yesterday
Was the day we said
Stay by your phone
For if we find a space
We'll bring Thursdays back

I woke up disappointed
Because everything I once loved
Is gone
Slipped through my fingers somehow

And I don't know if I can get it back
