"I got stabbed, and it totally sucked. But then I remembered something a wise man once said: "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." He quoted a movie as Hen and I watched as he folded his laundry like paper.

Hen sighed dramatically. "Ah, wise men of history: Aristotle, Solomon, Dr. King, Bueller, Bueller."

"Don't mock me. I'm convalescing."  Chim had been out of the hospital for a few weeks and was doing anything to make the time pass, which was evidently making him go crazy. "Anyways, Ferris Bueller only had one day off. I have weeks of free time, and I'm determined to make the most of it. Last time I almost died, I didn't get to have any fun at all."

"Is that why you're turning all your clothes into index cards?" I said folding my arms and looking at the large pile of messed up clothes and the small pile of neatly folded clothes.

"Not all of them." He picked up a white shirt inhaling and closing his eyes.

"What are you doing?" Hen said looking unamused.

"I'm trying to determine if this shirt sparks joy, and I did, and it doesn't. And now I thank the shirt." He stood up and began to thank the shirt. "Thank you." he threw the shirt on the pile of other clothes before sitting back down.

I looked at Hen who was just as confused as me. "Okay. You need therapy, Chim."

We stood and watched as Chim decided if every last piece of clothing sparked 'joy' or not as he continuously talk about wanting to get back to work and how he was going to be taking Maddie out, like the last time he wanted to do that he got stabbed. Obviously, that won't happen again since Doug is dead but I think it's a bit too soon to be jumping back into the relationship after the trauma that has just happened to the both of them.

"You both just almost died. Now you're just gonna prance over to her place and pick her up for dinner like it never happened?" Hen said leaning over the table.

"No. Maddie is coming over here to pick me up because she is a modern woman. And also, I'm pretty sure they couldn't get the bloodstains off that brick."

"So I guess Maddie still sparks joy?" I said grinning at him as his face lit up as he talked about her.

"Always." Chim smiled, he really did love Maddie and that was evident.

I understood what he was saying. Yes me and Buck have never had anything happen to us like Maddie and Chimney but no matter what happens with me and Buck he always sparks me joy even on the days he pisses me off so much and I would always go back to him no matter what.

To start the day off we had the school kids come to the station for the '911 talk', we go through everything with them, telling them how they can help in any type of emergency especially fires as they can sometimes be the most deadliest.

"Don't panic, because panic can be more dangerous than flames, toxic fumes or a sucking chest wound. Guys?" Bobby said gesturing to us.

"Cap's a little intense, huh?" Eddie said as we wheeled the TV into the centre of the room.

"Oh, he takes these talks very seriously," I said knowing the reason just like everyone else.

"And all you need are three numbers. Can anyone tell me what they are?"

"911!" All the kids yelled. Glad they know who to call in an emergency.

"Yes. Now, does anybody know what happens when you dial those numbers?" Bobby asked before picking on Harry who has his hand up. "Harry Grant."

"They call a fire truck."

Bobby handed it off to me and now all eyes were on me. "And now, what if I told you that a big computer brain helps you when you dial 911? It is called CAD, Computer Aided Dispatch. Let's say you, Harry, call in an emergency. Can you name one?"

"The library sets on fire, and all our homework assignments are burned up," Harry said gaining laughter from the whole class.

"Okay, there you go." I laughed at his answer before continuing. "All right, so when you dial 911, the dispatcher types in your address into the computer, and then CAD automatically finds your school, then finds the nearest station and..."

The bells start blaring as Hen speaks into the megaphone and Buck slides down the pole. "Station 118, Station 118, please dispatch a fire engine and an ambulance to the Meadowbrook School Library immediately. Harry Grant didn't do his homework."

Bobby clapped his hands together. "All right, guys, who want to check out the trucks?"

"Me!" All the kids yelled.
