It was a sunny afternoon in Adventure Bay. The pups are playing Hide and Seek. Marshall was counting while the others are hiding. Rocky hid behind a bush, Rubble ran into his house, while Zuma choose a different type of hiding place. He just stood behind Marshall trying to stay unobserved and slowly following him. Chase and Skye were together hiding in a hole in the ground.
"98...99...100! Now let's see where they are." Marshall said as he turned around. Zuma turned with him in a way so he is out of his friends field of view. The two walked across the garden. As Marshall walked he tripped on over his own feet landing on his back. This was usual from him but this time it was different. Marshall cried out in pain after a snapping sound. Everyone rushed to him worried. "Marshall is everything okay?" Chase asked. Marshall stood up from the ground revealing that he landed on a rock. "I'm good. But that rock was uncomfortable to land on." Marshall said chuckling. All the pups laughed together.
In the lookout Ryder was playing a game on his phone when he got a call from Jake. "What's up Jack?" Ryder asked. "Ryder dude I was driving down to town with Everest when we saw a deer family." Jake said. "And it seems one of them is stuck in a bear trap." Everest shouted while the image turned towards the deer's. "Oh no! We are on our way. No job is to big no pup is too small!" The boy said his catchphrase. With that he called for the pups. "Paw Patrol to the lookout!" Ryder said. The pups reacted and ran to the elevator when they seen that Marshall can't seem to hurry. "You good dude?" Zuma asked. Marshall stopped and looked to the Labrador. "My back hurts a lot. I landed badly on that rock." The Dalmatian complained. Zuma yelled for Rocky to come to help. He came and the two helped him walk by squeezing him between themselves achieving the equivalent of putting someone's arm around your neck and helping him walk. So with that they helped him inside. "Marshall are you sure you're okay?" Skye asked putting a paw on his back resulting in him, crying out in pain. "Oh my gosh sorry!" She apologized. "It's okay. Just don't do this again." Marshall said trying to ignore the pain.
The elevator rose up to the top floor stopping once to change into their uniforms. As the door opened the pups slowly made their way in front of Ryder. "What's wrong pups?" The boy asked them. "I landed on a rock with my back. It hurts a little." Marshall explained. "A little?" Rubble asked. "When Skye put her paw on your back you yelled out like had been shot." He continued. "Is that so? You should sit this one out Marshall." Ryder said worried for his pup's well being. "It's okay Ryder. I'll rest once the job is done." Marshall said. Ryder shook his head but he moved on. "Pups! I was informed that a deer has stepped in a bear trap. We have to help him and check if he is okay. For this mission I need: Rocky! I need you to use your tools to disarm the trap and free the deer." Ryder said. Rocky jumped up yelling his catchphrase. "Also I'm gonna need: Marshall! I need you to check on the deer's leg. You don't need to jump or anything since you are hurt, but I need to know if you can do this." Ryder continued still doubting that the Dalmatian is in the best shape to do missions, but Marshall got up and ready to go. "Because of Marshall's injury I want the rest to assist him and help with what you can." Ryder finished. The pups nodded. "Then let's go pups! Paw Patrol is on a roll!" Ryder concluded. The pups slid down on the slide and got into their vehicles but once the Dalmatian landed in his truck he yelled out in pain again this time crying a bit. The crew came to a halt. "Are you really sure you can do this Marshall?" Rocky asked. "Yes. I'm okay. Let's go." The Dalmatian mumbled holding his tears. "Marshall. You are going to Katie right after the mission. Understood?" Ryder asked. Marshall nodded in agreement. With that they restarted the engines and drove to the forest.
In the meantime Jake and Everest were trying to calm down the deer. The other deers were upset and tried to help the trapped member but got stopped by Everest and her owner so they don't worsen the situation. "This is getting out of hand Jake. I hope Ryder and the pups come fast." Everest said starting to get tired of holding back the animal family. "Just ask and receive Everest!" A voice said from behind them. As they turned around they saw the entire team pulling up to them. "Rocky disarm the trap. Chase help Everest contain the other deers. Zuma and Rocky help Marshall out of the truck." Ryder said "On it!" The pups said at the same time. Chase ran towards Everest and Jake helping them keeping them away from the action unfolding not far from them. "Chase? What's wrong with Marshall?" Everest asked concerned for her spotted friend. "He landed on a rock with his back. I'm afraid he hurt his spine. He is barely able to walk now." Chase said looking back at his best friend who was helped to the now free deer. "Oh no!" The Husky said feeling sad for her friend. Marshall trying to ignore the pain barked for his X-ray machine analyzing his leg. "Luckily the trap didn't damaged the bone but the flesh is in a bad state. Let me see what I can do." Marshall said. He worked for half an hour 'till he finished. "Is he going to be okay Marshall?" Skye asked. "I did what I could. He needs time to recover." He answered. With that Chase, Everest and Jake let the deer family collect their injured member of the family and slowly walk away disappearing in the woods. "Now Marshall let's see your back." Ryder said grabbing onto the the monitor directing it to the Dalmatian's back. Ryder started analyzing the image and came to a conclusion. "It seems you cracked your spine. There are actually a lot of cracks on it. We will need Katie to help you." Ryder concluded. Jake come forward and said that Marshall can come with him in his truck while Everest drives Marshall's truck. Everest looked a bit sad since she wanted to be by his side and Ryder saw this. "How about I call the twins to come and get Marshall's truck. This way you can ride with him Everest. She nodded in agreement. "Ryder to Tuck and Ella." Ryder said calling the twins. "Here Ryder! What's up?" Ella answered. "I have to ask for a favor. Marshall is hurt and unable to drive. I want one or both of you to help with his vehicle." Ryder explained. "I'm on my way. Tuck is out of town with the Cat Pack." She said. "Okay Ella we will wait." Ryder said hanging up.
