"love does not
begin and end
the way we seem
to think it does.
love is a battle, love
is a war; love
is a growing up."
– james baldwin
after eating, the two went to the bowling alley just like they wanted. they competed against each other and fooled around with the way they threw their balls on the ground. at one point, minho fell to the ground as he lost his footing from how slippery the shoes were, jisung couldn't stop laughing, and minho was just glad he could at least hear jisung's laughter and see a bright carefree smile on his face. at least they were having fun without any thoughts of what they were and what they were going to be in the future.
jisung is by far winning, and he's overly excited like a little kid. jumping up and down and smiling so much that minho can't help but wonder if his mouth feels tired or sore, but at the same time, minho was as well happy, so happy that jisung was smiling without a care of the world. it's been so long since he's seen jisung smiling like that, and he's glad that smile can still be there even when maybe he's having a rough time with himself.
minho's eyes glimmer whenever jisung shows up to his face to brag about how much he's winning, and soft pleasant smile keeps forming on minho whenever he catches jisung's eye. they spent their time good. they had fun, and that was all that mattered.
at the end of the day, they both decided to take a walk around the city. enjoying how loud and noisy their surroundings were and how chilly the night was. "we should go to the movies," jisung suggested.
minho nodded eagerly. "and what movie would we watch?"
jisung shrugs, "whichever one there is. you know that doesn't matter to me."
minho hums, "mmm. should we?"
"yes..!"
"alright," minho says, and when he does, he swiftly holds jisung's hand, intertwining them together. jisung tries not to react as if he was taken aback, because he was. and he didn't know if it was right to be doing this.
jisung frowns, and minho notices it, can't stop himself from smiling at the way the younger reacted. "what?" minho says, even though he knows exactly why he's frowning for.
"hmm..." jisung whines, pouting so much that he looks sorta like a baby. "are we supposed to do this?" jisung takes a quick glimpse at minho, to only find him with a confuse expression; his head tilt down and his brows furrowed. jisung sighs, "i mean...are best friends this close?"
"nope," minho admits quickly. "no, but, that doesn't matter to us, right?" minho pauses, finding that he's made a mistake. "i mean, it doesn't matter to me." he glances at jisung, finding him yet again with a frown on his face. "does it matter to you..?"
"no..." jisung lies, and minho could clearly see it.
"don't lie, ji. just say it, i won't mind. we can talk about it if you want."
jisung hesitates. "it's not like it matters...i just...still feel guilty and all. i mean, we used to do this. hold hands and hug and stuff...but now ever since we kissed...it's just been more confusing than it ever had been," jisung admits.
minho clicks his tongue, and looks up at the sky for a brief moment, thinking of what to say. "alright then...heres what i think..." minho trails off, looking up and letting his voice come to an end to playfully tease the younger.
it works, and it brings a smile to jisung's face. "what?" jisung wonders, a chuckle in the end.
minho beams at the sound and looks back at jisung, glad to have been able to put a smile on his face. "i think you like me." the sudden words make jisung flinch, unaware of what to respond with.
