"Nobody has ever measured,
not even poets,
how much the heart can hold."
— Zelda Fitzgerald

minho wasn't going to show up with yong-sun, or jisung, to this ballet performance thing. it didn't sound interesting, and he probably won't think much about it besides the thought of wanting to go home.

he wasn't going with them, he was going to go by himself. it's not like minho had anything else to do either way, so, might as well, right?

instead of taking a seat where jisung and yong-sun sat, minho sat in the very back row in the corner of the room, not wanting to drag any attention to him. or, rather he didn't want to let jisung know he was here. it's not like anything good of it was gonna happen. minho figured he'd just make things awkward and uncomfortable if he sat with the two for the next foreseen tense minutes. he didn't want to bother them by doing that.

minho tried really hard to focus entirely on the performance in front of him, but his goddamn eyes wouldn't stop trailing to jisung's now memorized seat in the middle of the room. it was impossible. jisung's presence was like a magnet to minho's eyes, he just couldn't stop looking away.

and if that wasn't any more difficult, seeing yong-sun whisper words into jisung's ear sent minho to another whole different level of jealousy. yong-sun was a flirt. outside, you probably didn't think it, but secretly, he was. minho knew it, he could see right through him. an innocent man with a secret hidden desire of a pretty boy. it was furring.

why did minho choose to be here when all he'd end up doing is glancing towards jisung's direction and watching someone else sit beside him? how foolish of him to do something so idiotic. did he purposely want to torture himself? it was ridiculous.

minho felt ridiculous. like a foolish idiot hopelessly in love with someone who looks like he could do everything perfectly fine without him. minho was a hopeless romantic, he hated to admit it, but he indeed was.

it felt like an entire day went by but the performance was finally over. minho exhaled out in relief as he clapped along with the awed audience that surrounded his boredom. his eyes yet again returned back to jisung's silhouette. even from afar, minho could notice jisung's amusing smile that crinkles his memorizing gleaming eyes.

minho felt himself fall all over again for jisung even after standing from afar, the wide gap between them, watching him in the room full with completely different human lives; not one soul in here knows how much minho is so deeply in love with his best friend. minho felt fortunate to watch and know so well of the boy who sat in the middle of the row beside a person who didn't know anything about him. at least no one could take that away from him.

"hi," says a high-pitched voice, foreign voice.

minho was walking through the hallway, making his way to the exist doors when he turns around and sees a girl with blonde hair standing in front him, a phone in her hands.

oh.

minho knows what's this is about, he doesn't need any second thoughts to know this all-so-familiar scene before him. he knows his answer immediately, and when he's about to turn her down, unanticipatedly he hears something that makes his thoughts go blank and his movements stop.

a golden sweet-like laugh.

in a quick heart beat, minho knows who that delicate laugh belongs to.

minho turns his head to the side, and his eyes find jisung who stands with a group of people surrounding him. yong-sun stands beside him, grabbing him by the shoulder and keeping jisung close to him. minho feels a lump on his throat when he sees the way jisung smiles. a smile that was made not because of him.
