Chapter 6

"Alright... So Ingredients says that I need... Peeled Chestnuts, I'll do that later. Milk, Icing... Man there's so many ingredients and steps" (Y/n) complained as he read off the list. "Trey said there should be enough ingredients... Eh? There are no Cream, Milk, Eggs, or Cups!" He exclaimed as he looked through the cabinets and refrigerator.

"This is getting ridiculous at this point" Sukuna grumbled in his mind, still believing this was a stupid idea. "It's fine, I'll just go to the local store, here in school. First, I need to write a note on the chestnuts" (Y/n) waved off as he got out a notepad and a pen. He wrote down, "Do not touch, please -(Y/n)" in hopes that other students won't take his hard-earned chestnuts.

"Alright! To the store!" (Y/n) cheered as he headed off, leaving his basket of chestnuts behind. Unaware of the group of students surrounding it after he had left. "You know, this kind of works in my favor, I get ingredients and get to see what the store is like" he chirped as he entered the store.

He quickly stopped in his tracks by the various odd nicknacks that lined the shelving. "Uhm... Am I in the wrong store?" He asked nervously, as he glanced around. "Greetings, my stray imp, how are you today?" Sam exclaimed as he popped up from behind the counter. (Y/n) jumped a little at the sudden appearance, resisting the urge to punch him on instinct.

"Welcome to Mr. Sam's Mystery Shop. What among my humbled selection interests you?" Sam asked casually. "A charm from a secluded land? The mummified remains of an ancient king? A cursed tarot card?" He asked as he gestured to the objects. "Mummified remains?" (Y/n) mumbled, hoping it wasn't another Sukuna finger, that somehow ended up in the shop.

"It's not, it's just some crusted-over remains, of an unimportant human," Sukuna said, somehow reassuring (Y/n) of the possibility. "Actually, I... Um... Came here for normal groceries" (Y/n) meekly answered with a guilty smile. "Ah, no worries! Just tell me your list and I'll get them for you" Sam said as he casually pushed the strange objects off the counter, clearing it for any food product he might grab.

"Right... I just need some Milk, Cream, Eggs, and Cups, like cake cup cups" (Y/n) explained while gesturing with his hands. "Quite the sacchariferous list! I'll get everything for you" Sam said as he headed off into the depths of his shop. "So... Uhm... Do you want anything here?" (Y/n) asked in a hushed tone, for only Sukuna to hear.

"What do you take me for? If you waste what little money you have on junk, I'll tear your heart out again" Sukuna promised him. "I'll just take that as a no" (Y/n) mumbled as he sweatdropped, he really shouldn't have asked in the first place. "Here you are! It's pretty heavy... Are you sure you can carry this?" Sam asked a bit worriedly.

"Thank you! Ah, no, it's fine, so how much will this all cost?" (Y/n) asked as he stuffed his hand into his back pocket. Grabbing what little money he'd gotten from the Headmage. "For you, it'll be 100 Thaumarks," Sam said as he held out his hand. (Y/n) slipped the money into Sam's hand while grabbing the bag of groceries with ease. "Thank you! Come again, my little imp!" Sam said as he waved (Y/n) off.

"Great... We wasted money on food we don't need, and meet money-grabbing humans" Sukuna complained loudly on (Y/n)'s cheek. "It's fine, plus, when I'm done, you can have a tart" (Y/n) reasoned with the curse, trying to calm him down. "Whatever..." Sukuna grumbled, before vanishing from (Y/n)'s cheek. He would never admit it, but he genuinely likes (Y/n)'s cooking, no matter how much he says he doesn't.

(Y/n) hummed happily as he made his way back to the kitchen, when he opened the door he was greeted by familiar faces. "Eh? Grim, Ace, Deuce, what are you guys doing here?" (Y/n) asked curiously, as he set down the groceries. Instantly noticed that all of the chestnuts were mashed into a paste. "Well... I am the one who got myself into my own mess. It's not fair that you're doing this for me" Ace admitted as he scratched his cheek.
