"Why did you do that?" Irene asked while panting. She held her lips. She gazed at Lisa with a confused pair of eyes.
Lisa only gulped, searching for words that would be enough to serve as an explanation. But no, she was rendered speechless. It was because her own heart was beating so loud that she could go deaf.
"Lisa, why did y-" Irene repeated the question, but Lisa cut her off by standing up.
"Unnie." Lisa said in panic.
"I-" Lisa should apologise. She knew that.
But-
It felt so good.
I'm not sorry for it.
I like it.
I wanted to do it more.
"Let's go. The beef stew might go cold." Lisa said instead.
Irene was about to be mad. She scoffed in annoyance at Lisa's lack of answers. However, it vanished quickly when Lisa held her hand tightly. Lisa never held her like this when she came back.
Irene knew that there was something. Lisa's hold felt different this time. She, herself too, felt the high current of electricity down her spine when she noticed how Lisa chose to hold her still despite her shaking cold hands.
"Are you nervous?" Irene asked calmly.
"I'm scared." Lisa answered.
I'm scared of what I wanted to do with you.
I'm scared of what I feel.
I'm scared of what will be I am in your life.
I am scared to redefine things.
"Don't be. I'm not mad." Irene consoled her.
Lisa smiled, and she grabbed the lamp from Irene's hand. She led the way back at Irene's house.
"Aren't you coming inside?" Irene asked.
"No, unnie. Enjoy the food with uncle and Yeri. I should get going, I still have some reports to do." Lisa explained softly.
"You're leaving already?" Irene asked. She knew that they had to talk.
"Yes, I'll see you tomorrow." Lisa said with a shy smile.
"O-okay. Maybe we can talk, right? About what's happening-" Irene said, unsure.
"Hmmm." Lisa only answered with a nasal sound.
"Bye, unnie." She said one last time before riding her bike and maneuvering it like a pro.
Irene scold her about driving too fast, but Lisa didn't hear it as she made a wide distance between them.
Lisa opened her helmet, something she rarely do. She traced her lips while driving slower. She can still feel Irene's lips on her. She doesn't the know why she did it but it felt enticing. On the other hand, after Irene blew the soup as it was hot but she ended up touching her lips as well, reminiscing the moment they had shared at the riverside.
"Lisa." Irene mumbled.
Once Lisa arrived at Irene's house, Yeri said that Irene had already left.
"She left early. She said she had to do some additional tasks today." Yeri simply shrugged.
"Thank you, Yeri. Is uncle already awake?" Lisa asked politely.
"No, still sleeping."
"How about you? Don't you need a ride to your school?" Lisa asked.
"Don't mind me. I'll leave in a couple of hours later." Yeri smiled.
