*5 years later*
Rain was pouring hard when Irene got home. Her head and body were soaking wet. Lucky for her clothes, they were safely placed in a clean plastic bag.
"I'm home!" She shouted happily.
Yeri and her parents quickly run towards the door to greet her. Her mother was alarmed at the sight of Irene.
"Irene! Why would you let yourself drenched, you'll get sick." Her mom scolded her as she rummage for a clean towel to wipe her.
"Unnie! I've missed you." Yeri smiled.
"You should have waited for the next morning Irene. It's dangerous to make the trip during nights." Her father shook his head.
"Stop worrying anymore. I'm here! With some delicious food I bought at the City." Irene said smiling. She put down her clothes at the floor and grabbed another plastic that has meat and other food that isn't available at the village.
"Wow, I've never seen this before." Yeri said when she saw a small pack of chocolate.
"You can have it. I have bought plenty for you." Irene said to her younger sister.
Yeri clapped in happiness.
"Lisa would love it if she's here." Yeri mumbled. Irene was taken a back at the mention of the name.
It's been five years since Lisa was adopted. Five years since Irene had started working and it would take another year for her to finish college. Not because she slack of intelligence, but the money has been always the problem. When her father got sick, she decided to stopped for a while to support his medication, all while sending Yeri to school and supporting her family financially.
She's been through alot.
Still, if someone will ask her if she would accept Lisa to be part of her family-
after leaving them.
After experiencing the pain of losing someone.
The answer will always remain the same.
Yes.
Even if Lisa might feel that she's a burden, Irene will reassure her that she's not and she's worth it. She will gladly explain it with a smile.
So why, why did Lisa chose to leave? When Irene didn't do anything to make her feel bad of herself.
"I'll just take a bath abeoji and eomeoni." Irene excused herself.
But the truth was, she was reminded of the pain she felt the day that Lisa left. It was all just by hearing her name.
It wasn't a wonderful feeling to lose a sister.
"Somi, let's go home." Lisa pulled her sister's uniform.
"Why so eager? Let's grab some ice cream first." Somi laughed at Lisa.
"I have tons of home work." Lisa pouted.
"You can finish it quick. Stop reasoning that out." Somi scoffed.
"I can't."
Somi eyed her. Lisa wasn't good at lying.
"I can but I'm tired so maybe I can't."
"Just one scoop of ice cream. I need it or I'll die." Somi said with exaggeration.
"Fine but in one condition." Lisa gave up.
"Can you please stop teasing me with your classmates?" Lisa whispered.
"Why? Troy and Gigi like you so much. Errm, romantically, eventhough Gigi is a girl." Somi said, as if her twelve-year old self is an expert to this matter.
