21: AT LAST

Rain knocked on the door nervously, in warning, before he opened it and went inside.

Several small crystal chandeliers lit the room on the lowest setting, so the lighting was soft and diffused.

He was dressed in dark clothes and standing at the bar with a freshly poured glass of whisky in his hand.

He looked at the boy that slipped inside and closed the door with a soft click.

It had been a while since they saw each other.

Both sets of eyes roamed hungrily over the other person, yet neither said a word.

They both had a distinct sense of deja vu. 

Same club, same room, same two people.

Phayu looked stunning.

But then he always did.

Tonight he looked especially sexy in dark dressy clothes with a brooding look in his eyes.

Rain licked his lips which were suddenly dry, his breath coming a little faster, and said to him, "It's your birthday today, Phi. Happy 29th birthday. I'm here to do a dance for you."

Phayu raised one eyebrow and speared him with a skeptical look. "I remember the last time you danced for me here. You didn't really seem sure of what you were doing," he said challengingly.

"Oh, I've gotten a lot better. I've had a lot of practice."

"Is that so?"

Rain looked back at him, lifted his chin determinedly, and went over to the audio system to turn on the music.

The rhythm started slow and sexy with a throbbing bass beat. The sound filled the room, blocking out the music that had been seeping in from the first floor of the club.

The private room became cocoon-like with the dim lighting, the pulsing music, and the palpable sexual tension that still singed the air between them despite all this time.
