Moaning in pain, Athena turned her body slowly on the soft plush mattress. Her head felt like someone was beating her in it repeatedly and her right hand felt like someone was running over it. The events of last night replayed in her mind and she cried all over again before looking over at the nightstand that had advil and a bottle of water.
She couldn't believe that she showed up to Remys house last night looking like a wet dog. The bile that was in the back of her throat suddenly felt like it was to the tip of her tongue so she sprung up out of his bed and raced to the bathroom that was attached to his room and emptied the contents of last night in it.
The dry heaving didn't make her feel any better. His hands were like a cold touch on her back and it only made her realize that she was completely naked. "It's okay mama." He comforted with a kiss to her head.
After she passed out in his arms last night, Remy put his differences aside and catered to her only for Athena to repeatedly tell him that no one truly loved her and he couldn't make sense of anything that she was saying but he could feel and tell that she was suffering mentally, emotionally and physically and the only thing he wanted to do was wrapped her in his arms and take the pain away from her.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to come here last night." She cried and apologized at the same time.
He picked her up bridal style and sat her on side of his tub before turning the knob for some warm water. After touching the water and watching it full up to a good amount. He walked out of the bathroom for the Advil and water and gave it to Athena who shook her head. He bent down to her level to look directly in her eyes, "I don't know what's going on as yet but you have to let me take care of you, I'm not going to hurt you, I promise."
She held her head down and played with the bandage on her hand. "Don't you already hate me though? You stopped talking to me and I swear you blocked me too."
"I needed to do that for myself. If I didn't distanced myself from you then I would've ruined your marriage Athena and I had to value myself and my beliefs by taking a step back from a reality I wanted no parts in." He explained.
Athena chuckled bitterly, "I'm not married." She took the water and pills from him to swallow one and stood up to sit in the tub where she brought her knees to her chin. "J-Jace never sent in our marriage license and his married to someone else. The same white bitch he fought to make partner is his wife. Now it all makes sense, she never hated me because of cases. She hated me because I was in the public eye with Jace while she had to be his secret. And get this, they have children together. A beautiful little girl and one on the way but he faked like he stopped using protection with me just for me to find the condom under our bed." She spilled.
"I'm sorry." Remy told her and took off his clothes before going in the tub behind her where he hugged her from behind and she turned to straddle his lap.
